FW review

We stayed 3 nights -we were able to check in early when we arrived around 8 am - it was nice to get a headstart on setup.

We have stayed here3 or 4 times - the last being in '05. I was quite surprised at how different everything looked - I'm sure its from the hurricanes - but so many trees gone & the ground looked like it had been set on fire - everything black.

WE stayed in the 1300 loop - 1315 ro be exact. We walked around to the bridge to head to the pool & looked across the street & saw nasty looking standing water - it was in several places around the campground - I'm guessing its just from the amount of rain that they've had lately - but I'd been extremely disappointed if that had been our site - having kids to keep out of that mess.

The grass behind the tennis courts was well overgrown - but on Thurs a.m. we did see someone cutting near our bathhouse - again maybe it was just the amount of rain that they haven't been able to keep up.

Other than that everything else was a nice as could be & the CM we dealt with were friendly.

LOVED the campfire - we roasted hotdogs & marshmallows & had a good time - didn't stay for the movie - it was something I knew nothing about other than it was PG & besides the littlest one wouldn't have been up for it anyway.

We will defintely return to FW - the boats route is different - or maybe its because of the time of year (last time was NOV) that we didn't have to stop at WL to drop-off/pickup it was a straight trip to MK - we liked that~

No it was not crowded at all - we did the campfire on Mon night & I told dh how UNcrowded it was -compared to Thanksgiving time when we were there - there were seats still at the campfire on the benches & a handful of folks scattered on the bleachers.

We never had to wait for a shower - only saw maybe 1 other peron even in the washouse at the same time - sites on both sides of us were empty the first night then 1 filled & then the other the day we left (Thurs).

The buses weren't even full - guess we just picked the right time to go anywhere

Either we just weren't observant or there wasn't any construction going on around us - though we only went to the pool area & the boat - so didn't hit anywhere else on the campground...
