Did anyone else notice that on a recent All Ears Weekly Newsletter the FW Cabins was rated as the worst place to stay on Disney property by one of their columists? How can anyone bash our campground! :stir:

What this requires is a mutiny!!! KUNGALOOSH!!!!

That's good! More room for the rest of us! :thumbsup2

all because cabin people aren't campers.

I only worry about opinions if I respect the source. I'm not worried about this opinion.

Who cares about what a fake camper says anyhow. Because cabin people aren't real campers. I'm for taking out the cabins and making more loops for the real campers

My guess is it has to do with the no themed pool or slide and the internal bus service to get to the parks you first need to take a bus to the front then another bus to the resort.

Obviously a flawed rating. I like the AllEars site but if you look at their own "Rate and Review" section, the FW cabins come out pretty good. You can't base your ratings on a single visit or period in time. They have lots of ratings for the resorts over a long period of time which indicate something else. So don't get upset-their own data says All Star Sports is the worst.

Whether it be the cabins or the campsites, the Fort is an "el primo" campground and resort. It is not de luxe but it is the most relaxing and comfortable which is what I'm looking for on vacation.

What FAUX CAMPERS don't get is, although i love disney as most of us do, a good bit of the reason I go to the fort , IS the fort itself! I am not in any hurry to rush off to any park. While i wait for a fort bus, i am enjoying beautiful surroundings, wild and tame animals and just a gorgeous atmosphere unlike any other resort( and I have stayed in all but ONE disney resort.) With a name like "wilderness", you can expect its going to take a little longer to get anywhere but thats ok with campers.
I haven't even read this yet, but I have a feeling its about what the faux's perceive to be a bad bus system, which we all know is pretty efficient given the fort's size. I really don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure it out?

Ohhh, I like that idea! Course, they'd have to charge $300 a night to make it worth their while... Doh!

I am sorry we are not real campers. It would be nice but at our age it isn't going to happen now. We still love Fort Wilderness and would not stay any place else even if you don't think we belong there. We are not alone. See you in Dec.

:sad2: The cabins are where I learned about how wonderful the Fort is. It took a few years to get back there after that first visit but I came back. And I will again when the economy picks back up. IMHO, anyone who stays on Fort property is a "Fort Fiend" :grouphug:

I think belonging has more to do with the type of person you are... Is a person with a coach nicer than a suite at the contemporary a "real" camper??? I don't think so but, appreciation of nature and love of the Fort should make you belong however you camp....
If I'm alone in this I would be suprised, the second we become too "eliteist" we are no better than the people that call us trailer trash.Even if we are better than them :lmao: :lmao: .

See, you guys are stepping on other Fort Fiends toes. Can't we all just get along? I just said I didn't respect the opinion of AllEars.

:thumbsup2 I agree with ya there!!!

Being a real camper is more a state of mind and personality than where you stay at.

It seams to me that a lot of the folks staying at the cabins are not camping people. They just need some where thats sleep more than a normal Disney resort. They are easy to pick out. They complain about everything at the fort. Kind of like the WL people looking down on the Fort's campers.
If you don't believe me. Listen to people next time you are at the outpost bus stop or on a boat or bus headed to/from the fort or take the purple bus.

The guys from allears not a camper
