That is how you would do it by bus, yes. However, another option is to take the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness, because the boat dock at Fort Wilderness is a short walk from Pioneer Hall, which is where HDDR takes place.
Beat me to the punch...this is the best idea if coming from a park. If coming from a resort, head to MK and then take the boat to FtW from there. It's just a short walk up to Pioneer Hall.
Well, that would work of course, but not the most efficient.
Fort Wilderness is a resort so it has direct transportation to all theme parks. If you want to go there from AK, take the Fort Wilderness bus from AK. It will take you to the Outpost bus stop. From there, take any bus to Settlement for the Hoop De Doo.
Except for the first show, there will be buses to return you directly to your resort after the show. You'll probably share with POFQ and maybe even OKW and/or SSR. If you go to the first show, a boat back to MK then a bus to your resort will work.
POR is really close to the Fort, so the cab is a great idea. Not sure if any hang around the lot to take one home, though.
Be sure to allow enough time. One time I was going from AKV Kidani to Fort Wilderness for dinner. It took me an hour and 15 min by taking the bus from AKV to MK and then the boat from MK to FW. I was 15 minutes late meeting my friends, they were already eating when I got there. I would have drove but we were planning to go to MK afterwards and I didn't want to have to get the car from the lot there (since I would have to take the internal bus).
