don't know if this was already posted, but for anyone desiring to do the haunted carriage ride, we were informed yesterday that it has been discontinued, and will not be offered this year.
the cast member sounded as disappointed as we were, but said that they just recieved a memo informing them to let anyone one calling know, that it's been discontinued.

We have done this the last three years. Last year we had a terrible time getting a reservation and ended up being the last ride of the night so I know it was popular. I wonder if it has something to do with all the construction over there? With rumors of a DVC going in and resurfacing of roads, maybe that's it. I sure hope they bring it back next year, it had become a family tradition for us. The older I get the harder change is for me. :headache:

Most likely because of the construction. Moving the barn? Maybe it will be back for 2013.

This opinion may not be popular, but I am okay with them giving it a rest this year. The Carriage rides and Haunted hay rides in various forms have been done for several years. We did a Haunted when the kids were little and it was well done with the Headless Horseman charging our wagon and my kids diving under the seats scared to death! :cool1:

They are probably going to give it a rest for a while and hopefully retool it to offer a new twist on what I think is a great idea. IMO I think they should supersize it/cram it with more show which I would be willing to pay more for, personnally.

that's good to know. we set aside a whole evening at FW on our upcoming trip schedule. had never done it, and the kid's were really looking forward to it, talk about a dissappointment. hope you're right about next year. we'll keep it in mind and look into it then. funny thing is, they still show the standard carriage rides, and winter sleigh ride as being offered on the disney websight. the only thing removed on the FW page there is the haunted carriage ride, perhaps they take different routes?

Count me bummed. We've been doing summer vacations the last couple trips because of the kids & school. This year, for one year, due to extended family restrictions, we are taking them out of school to go to WDW. I don't imagine we'll do that again ever, so our opportunity to go during the Halloween season again is basically non-existent. (At least until they graduate college!) I'll have to just imagine what it would be like! :sad1:

That's terrible and yes as of yesterday the standard white carriage rides were still going on. Geeze, I knew I should have ridden over towards the Wildreness Lodge to see their was any construction, cause honestly I didn't see any anywhere else at the Fort.
