Hello,

I did not see a FW thread, so if anyone has any advice, it will be truly appreciated.

My friend is considering staying at FW in the cabins. The party currently has reservations at AS.

They will have their own vehicle.

Can 5 stay in one cabin comfortably? Grandma, Grandpa, mom, dad and 5 year old.

How many pools, do they have any hot tubs?

Advice on getting to the parks, is appreciated. I know the bus is shared with WL (we've stayed at WL). Do you have to take an Internal bus to the bus stop? Can you drive to the bus stop?

Is this resort "fun" for a little one?

What would you recommend doing at FW?

Thank you all very much for your response!

:D

There are 2 single bunk beds and 1 double bed in the bedroom and a pull down double bed in the living room. There is 1 bathroom, and a nice kitchen. The transportation is not a good as other resorts. There is a lot for kids to do; petting zoo and campfire. The theming isn't as notable as other resorts. There are 2 pools, not themed either.

Yes, take an internal bus, no you cannot drive to the bus stop as there are no parking places near them. you can rent one of the golf carts to get around and you can park those while away.

the resort is fun for a little one if the adults want to do a lot of outdoorsy stuff like swimming, campfire sing alongs, bbq etc. We were so tired the first time we went there in 1998 that we crashed when we got back to the cabin.

as much as you possibly can. Enjoy the sing alongs and movies and marshmallow roasting and nightly activities as much as you can.

It has been a while since we stayed at that resort. I was real happy with it for my first Disney trip ever.

I think the cabins are one of the hidden treasures of Disney. It's one of the few places that sleep 6 people, and has a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and oven. I think there's theming in terms of woodsy furniture and paneling. And housekeeping runs the dishwasher, even with only a few glasses!

My family had a wonderful time at Christmas 2001. I even did dinner on timebake in the oven! The pools are not snazzy, but the resort is very laid back, and we love the petting zoo and the campfires with movie. Trails End Buffeteria is one of the best bargain buffets on WDW property.

As far as transportation goes, I love to take the boat to MK, or the Contemporary (transferring to the monorail to Epcot), and drive from my cabin to other parks. One of my favorite memories is walking the path from WL to FW at dusk with my DH. Watch out for scary armidillos then!
