Are talking at the Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness? Two different resorts. I can help, a little with the FW cabins. There are internal busses that stay within FW, 2 on each of the three routes running opposite directions of each other. From the cabins you would walk to the end of your loop where the bus stop is and wait for the bus heading in the direction you are going. The marquee on the bus tells where it is heading at that time, Settlement, which is where Trails End, HDDR, Meadows pool, if you are on the Orange route bus and the marina to catch the boat to MK, or the smaller boat to Contemporary and Wilderness lodge. The other direction will take you to the Outpost to get the busses to the other parks and DS.
There are golf carts that you could rent and get around that way also, with plenty of parking at the Meadows pool and outdoor movie, Settlement and Outpost. Cost of cart is 59.00 a day, and reservations are recommended, but not required ( depending on what time of year you go).
As far as lighting, I have never been in the cabin loops at night, but I would have to say there is some lighting. There is lighting on the sidewalks around the Fort.
Hope some of this helps. Enjoy your trip.
