We are staying at the FW Cabins at the *end* of our vacation. Two days of, hopefully, relaxation. :)

We want to grill one evening and make breakfast one morning.

What should I absolutely bring from home?

So far on my list I have: DAWN, sponge and foil. Anything else?

bring foil, the grills can be a hit icky, but they have sponges and dish soap there. In the past when we stayed there we shipped paper products down to ourselves there, was just easier and cheaper than buying them there. I also sent along some PAM spray for the grill and sprayed it on the foil after i covered the grates. have fun !!

You can get charcoal from the trading post. I can't quite remember if they have matches or not. We had someone who had a pack already.

Foil is good to cover the grill. Everything else will be in your cabin.

If you want to eat outside, you might consider going to the dollar store and getting a cheap plastic tablecloth. The picnic table doesn't have one.

Salt and pepper, small cups for the bathroom, and enough foil to fashion a cookie sheet should you need one for cookies or pizza. The basket type filters for the coffee and coffee.

So then they do sell charcoal? Awesome! Is there a list I can view of items that they sell? I'd hate to have to travel with items if they have them already for sale.

Thanks guys...I'm adding these things to the list! :)

They sell everything that any camper would need. I ended my post before telling you that you can get foil there too. You can even get the meat and buns or whatever there. Just realize you will be paying Disney prices.

But a memory. Buying our supplies at the Trading Post and sitting back and having a great meal. My father said "Disney does it right". This was in 1977.

You will need matches!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell we didn't have any when we went to cook dinner one night? :rotfl2:

Teacher...you are too funny! :)

So they don't sell matches at the Trading Post?

Does anyone have the Trading Post's number? I need to see if they have a list of items so I know what to take and what to buy there. DH doesn't want to take a thing if it's for sale there. LOL

THANK YOU Disnut8! I adore you...thank you, thank you, thank you! :) It was so sweet of you to post so much info. Thanks for the link, I'm on my way to look at it! :)

The cabins are stocked with plates, silverware, glasses, mugs, bowls, cooking utensils, pots and pans. You shouldn't need any paper goods. The foil is a good idea, though!

Charcole Lighter Fluid besides the matches as well as charcole and foil. You did not say if you are driving or flying. If you drive stop at a store before you get there and buy what you need it will be much much cheaper.

When we were there in '06, the Trading Post carried Matchlight charcoal, so all you needed were the matches. Fortunately, ours were safe and sound 800 miles away on our kitchen table. Since I didn't want to catch another bus back to the Trading post, I bummed a pack off of our super nice neighbors.

The highlighted part: Does that mean that the Trading Post has these items or that I need to bring them with me?

We are renting a minivan for the length of our cabin stay. :)

Where's the nearest grocery store? Thanks! :)

Oh - if you have a car, no problem. I'm not that familiar with going to a grocery store from Fort Wilderness (we bought on the way in) but there are several places right near Disney World. If no one else responds to this, just ask when you check in.

Avoid Goodings (expensive) and Winn-Dixie (not the best). Ask for the nearest Wal Mart or, better (not a fan of Wal Mart groceries), a Publix. Buy your supplies off site.
