FW AP Discount?

Can anyone give me info about AP discounts, specifically if FW offers discount to AP holders? I recall seeing threads on this topic in the past, just cannot locate them right this second.

You can usually get 30% off rack rate with an AP discount, some times more, some times less. But that was the average when I was a passholder.

Rack rate is the most they can charge for a site/room... if you check the bullentin board at the comfort stations, it'll tell you that year's rack rate is for the campsites.

You generally see more discounts for the cabins than for the campsites though, at least when I've been looking. I've got a really good discount on a cabin next week. When the January AP discounts came out initially (the ones only good until the beginning of February) the percentages were really good. When they extended the dates, they backed off the discount for the mods, so the price went up. I'm glad I didn't wait! :thumbsup2

Generally when you call, you can just ask what the rate is for AP holder is. They don't verify over the phone if you are or not, you have to show your ticket when you check in.

So I'd just say call and ask. Occasionally offers can be better than passholder, and sometimes they can increase the passholder savings, all you have to do is call back and ask if there's any better discounts that can be applied to your reservation.

I am possibly thinking about going down end of June and am thinking about purchasing an AP does any one know if they do AP rate for a tent site end of June since it is the summer season? Do they do AAA rate on the tent sites? Generally which rate is usually better does any one know... I'm trying to talk a friend into going with me but it would have to be pretty budget friendly for me to get her to go

Thanks

They do, but they are extremely limited and harder yet to get and for sites only it's about 10% max. and things like AAA discounts are much more common and they are only 20% for site only ressies.

If you click on the discounts bar at the top of the page and look you will see that the campsites are not listed for any of the discounts offered for other resorts.

There are sometimes AP discounts, but not all the time (usually slower times of year), and when they're offered there are generally only a limited number available.

We saved $10/night off a Preferred site in November with an AP rate.

Signing up for Mousesavers newsletter is a good way to stay on top of the latest discounts as they're announced. Definitely call quickly when they're announced, they don't last long!

i don't think there was ever a time camping at the fort when i wasn't able to get a discount. I just stated that i was an AP holder, AAA member, and florida resident. Usually one of the three were available, and sometimes AAA out beat AP. I think that happened once... But you can get a discount on any of the sites. I camp in the off season, but when i stay for halloween, i usually can get a site for 40$.

We are going in less than three weeks. Last year we received a 20% AAA discount. We just called tonight asking if they still honor the AAA discount and they said yes, 10%. So I figure that is better than nothing.

There's a general public room rate offer out there now, but I'm not sure if it applies to campsites. I'm betting not, but might be worth asking (unless someone here knows for sure?) This is the info off Mousesavers...

Stay dates: 1/1/10 to 6/3/10. Get a 25%-45% discount off regular "Rack" rates. Percent off varies by length of stay. Use code QNY. Some dates will be blocked out. Rates not available for all dates and resorts.

* Save 25% at Disney Value Resorts when you stay 1-4 nights; save 30% when you stay 5 nights or longer

About Booking

You must book by 3/27/10. For phone bookings, you pay a deposit of one night's room rate plus tax. No change or cancellation fee will be charged if you make your modification more than 5 days before arrival. Thanks to Small World Vacations for info.

To reserve a room with the January-June Savings, call the Disney Reservations Center at (407) W-DISNEY or contact a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, and request the specific offer code.

Mousesavers also had info on a current AP discount deal being offered, again not sure if it applies to campsites...

About Booking

For phone bookings, you pay a deposit of one night's room rate plus tax. No change or cancellation fee will be charged if you make your modification more than 5 days before arrival. You can also book online through the Annual Passholder section of DisneyWorld.com, but for online bookings the change/cancellation deadline is 6 days and you have to pay in full if you book less than 45 days in advance. In other words, there's a real incentive to book by phone!

You can book one room per adult Annual Pass. You can book with a valid Annual Pass, an exchange voucher or with the intent to purchase an Annual Pass, as long as you present a valid Annual Pass or exchange voucher upon check-in. Thanks to Small World Vacations for info.

To reserve a room with the Annual Passholder discount, call the Disney Reservations Center at (407) W-DISNEY or contact a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, and request the specific offer code.

I just booked last night a AP rate for a premium site for the dates of
5/24-6/03(10 nights)
The weekday price was $76 and the Fri and Sat night was $78.40
The only sites avail were tent and premium

So the moral of the story(if there is one:laughing:) is discounts are avail but they are pretty hard to come by.:3dglasses

i don't think there was ever a time camping at the fort when i wasn't able to get a discount.

Then IMHO and based on a enormous amount of posts on discounts you are blessed since the general consensus is that they are hit and miss.

I just stated that i was an AP holder, AAA member, and florida resident. Usually one of the three were available, and sometimes AAA out beat AP.

Then the post saying you were also a AAA member and a Fl. resident didn't post in this thread. I have never heard of a discount for just being a FL. resident for a site only at FW nor of any AP discount beating out the 20" % off AAA discount so tell us you secret of getting an AP discount that is better than AAA for just a site only reservation. I would be very interested in this since I'm both a AP and AAA member. If this is something new would you like to share what that is?

I think that happened once... But you can get a discount on any of the sites. I camp in the off season, but when i stay for halloween, i usually can get a site for 40$.

Last Nov for the entire mo I got a 20% AAA that worked out to around $37/night and I have never heard of an AP discount over 10% on any site only reservation.

Larry

Larry, I have received AP discounts in the past that were better than the AAA rate. In August 2005, I originally booked with the AAA rate and then changed to the AP rate when it was available. IIRC, the discount was in the 35%-40% range.

This past August, I again booked originally with the AAA discount. When the AP discount became available, I called but as you mentioned, the discount was only 10%, so I stayed with the AAA rate.

During our last 5 FW trips (over 10 years), only once have I not been able to get the AAA rate. I think it helps that we normally book 1+ years in advance when staying at FW.

When we stay at other resorts, I haven't been as lucky getting the AAA rates but I think this is because these trips normally aren't planned out as early and the discounts have already been taken.

Anyone know if the current AP rate offer (posted above) applies to campsites? It's for 35-40% off.

I think this is what we got. Or it's what my reservation says. I can't figure out how to quote my previous post.:scratchin.

These are the rack rates for this same time frame:
*

Date Rate per Night
Mon, May 24 $ 95.00
Tue, May 25 $ 95.00
Wed, May 26 $ 95.00
Thu, May 27 $ 95.00
Fri, May 28 $ 98.00
Sat, May 29 $ 98.00
Sun, May 30 $ 95.00
Mon, May 31 $ 95.00
Tue, Jun 01 $ 95.00
Wed, Jun 02 $ 95.00

Anybody know if there are any AARP discounts?
DH joined at 50 and we're trying to take as many discounts as possible. I hadn't thought about AAA as I'm not a member but do have an AP, hmmm.

Nelle, It looks like you got 20% off, when you called did they only offer the discount on the premium sites? TIA

I called tonight to book a trip Sept 18-25. No AP discount available, but I did get a 20% discount through AAA. To say I was excited is an understatement.
