I am about to make reservations for next Feb. Does anyone know if the AAA discounts apply to FW campsites as well?

I know I will find out when I call the travel agent as well.

The discounts do apply on campsites if they are available during your stay. When we booked they were not, but I kept calling back and eventually got the discount applied.

Did you go through a TA or on your own? I feel silly going through a TA for a camping trip. I am going to try to get the reservations today for the site and golf cart.

I did it on my own, but I would not feel silly using a travel agent either.

As far as the golf cart, we use Kenny at Tee Time, it is a lot cheaper. There is a post about golf carts that will tell you more than you need to know, I would review it.

About 3 weeks ago, I got a AAA discount for our 16-27 July '09 trip. Actually, we've always gotten a discount at FW. How nice is that?

Good luck!

Can you make a reservation on the web and then get the AAA discount applied later? If so, how do you do it?

Thanks.

Just call reservations. When I had originally made our Oct. resssie, I hadn't applied the AAA. I called a few months later and they updated it. The price on a premium site went from $81 a night to $57. YIPPY!

I REALLY like that AAA discount.... hmmm:hyper:

When you get that price it isn't so hard on the bank account to book a premium. Well, at that time of year. For us it is totally worth it.

Does the discount come out randomly or is there some special time like 2 months out or 3 months out, like the florida resident rates?

I just called for our reservations for Feb 2010. The AAA come out when Disney issues the next year prices. I have to call back in August to apply the AAA price to my reservation.

You guys are talking AAA discounts. But what about military discounts? Has anyone ever gotten one of those and if so how do they work?

I have AAA, but was wondering if the Annual Pass (room only) rates apply to campsites? Anyone know???

Does anyone know if there are only a limited number of AAA discounts so that it would be important to call early?

I believe that has happened in the past, I remember some people getting discounts and then others saying that there were none available. I know during Christmas and other high attendance periods there are none..

I believe they release AAA discounts in blocks, so if at first you don't suceed, try, try, again. 20% is significant, at least to me.

I just upgraded our June trip from a full hookup site to preferred and saved $101 using my AAA discount. :cool1: I had called a few weeks ago and was told there were no preferred sites available so apparently some sites opened up. I just decided to call back today after reading this thread. THANKS!

Well, that's an encouraging story! I just (minutes ago) got off the phone with CRO and was told there were no AAA discounts available for my dates (11/29-12/17) except in partial. I already have my ressies in preferred. But she suggested I try back later. After hearing of your success, I WILL. Thanks for sharing.

:santa:
