FW after a Halloween party

We've never stayed at the FW cabins and I've always wanted to try them. We're doing a Halloween party this year and I'm thinking about staying at a cabin that night. Do you think the boats to FW would be really crowded or would we be able to get back fairly quickly after the end of the party?

The other option I'm considering is the Contemporary, since we can walk there, but I'd like to try the cabins of it wouldn't take forever to get home at the end of the day.

When I've done the party (3 times) and gone back to FW it was only by bus...no boats running that late at night. In addition, there was no direct bus to FW...you had to take the Wilderness Lodge bus from MK and wait for the "yellow" internal FW bus to pickup at the WL bus stop. Kind of a pain...
On the other hand, I love the Fort so am willing to put up with the "pain" buses. :)

Thank you, @Disneypeach, that is exactly the kind of information I was looking for, although it wasn't quite what I was expecting! So glad to know this. I'd always worried about those little boats being too crowded at the end of a park day but thought that the after-party crowd would be smaller so this might be the time to stay at FW. Maybe next time!

I haven't gone to a party while staying in a cabin but did go to one of the 24 hour events while staying in a cabin. We left the MK at 2am and were able to get on a boat that was not crowded. Once you get to FW then you have to take the bus to your loop and then walk to your cabin. It definitely added some extra time on to the commute but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

We have never taken a bus back to FW after MNSSHP. There may be a long line waiting for the next boat, but it’s not bad.
