Is anyone concerned that w/ OKW,BWV,and soon to be sold out VWL(expected sell out at end of summer)and Beach Club not to open for a year or so.
Will people buy at HH or Vero Beach, buy into DVC w/ no intention of using their HH or VB as a home resort? Will this create a problem in the future for booking of rooms at Disney properties??
I hope that I explained this??
What do you think????

I added on two times, and looking again!!!

Nah, Disney would never try to use WDW DVC resorts to sell HH and VB.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs", Karl Marx,This has failed every time it has been tried, why do we still have liberals?

What if you want to stay at WDW and the only thing you can buy is at HH or Vero Beach? Would you buy so that you can stay at Boardwalk?? Think about it? It may not be DVC selling it that way, but the public buying it for that reason! ;)

dtheboys,
Considering that HH and Vero are 70% sold I dont think it will ever have a chance to become an issue. Assuming that BC sells as quickly as WLV, It will still leave enough time for Vero and HH to sell out completely given current buying habits.

Bumpy!
That's good news....Thanks.
I was just a little worried about over crowding and rooms hard to get!
thanks!

Heres how it was explained to me by a Sales Rep last week.

You will always be able to get into a WDW DVC resort 95% of the year as long as you are not picky on which DVC resort you stay at. But the Beach Resorts (HH, VB) will become hot commodities as people get tired of going to WDW year after year and want to try something new. HH will be even harder to get into (they were pushing HH) because the resort has so few units and because it has a shorter season than the other resorts.

My Opinion: I believe there is some truth to what the sales person was saying. If you want to go to HH during the summer you almost always have to use the 11 month window.

Because the Beach Resorts are so small I wouldn't worry about these people invading the WDW DVC resorts. What you really have to worry about are all those Old OKW owners getting tired of their resort and trying out the new ones so their owner can't get a room. ;)

Owners always have the 11 month booking advantage....

Have a wonderful day!

We have never had any problem getting the resort we wanted when we wanted it. We bought into OKW when it was the only DVC property. As the other resorts became avail we decided to still buy our add-ons in OKW. We wanted to keep all our points in one resort for ease of vacation planning. Knowing that we would only have an 11 month advantage in OKW we came upon the conclusion that we would have to be happy with staying in OKW forever. Since as the number of DVC members increase the ability to stay at different resorts may get more difficult without having early booking. We were actually some what concerned that OKW reservations may eventually become hard to come by. This is because with the points being lower at OKW people owning outside of WDW may try and stay there first since it is more stay per point. So far I dont think this has been a problem at least not for us. Anyway we have been able to get to VB a few times in the last couple of years. We have never made reservations anymore than a few months in advance and have been able to get in every time. So we will enjoy it while we can!!!!

we have hh cause we are from NC and get to use it more often than wdw resorts. we go to wdw every 2-3 years. IF people by hh so they can use wdw then maybe i can use hh when i want to more often with out having to make that 11 month window. we just bought in feb and we can't go to hh at all this summer. we are going to vb. we are happy with this cause we like the looks of the resort.

Wanting to stay outside OKW to many times,I don't think too many of us want to stay in the smaller rooms and pay one third or more for the priveledge. Those stacked washer and dryers are great too.r

I agree. I have all my points at OKW for those very reasons. I have often thought of trying the other resorts, but never quite get motivated enough to do it.

As long as they leave the 11 month window, I don't think one's home resort will be a problem. Nice subtle sarcasm rich.

We have only been to WDW 3 times in the last 7 years. First time was at the Swan on a Coors convention, then GF, then Poly. I bought my resale at OKW. I have no intention of staying at OKW while my kids are very young as we like the convenience of the monorail, and since we only will be coming for 6 nights during Choice or Adventure time periods we can stay at GF, Cr, or Poly and not even use all our points. So in a way you could say I fit into your category but i won't be taking anyone's space at BWV for a number of years. I'm sure we will stay at OKW sometime and may find that we really like it...I hope so.
