Sooo annoyed.

I have $46.18 in Kmart/Sears rewards, and I went to get Furbies for the kids for Xmas, and they had none in store and none online... TRU I have $8 in coupons (could have gotten 20% off if I bought three, but I only need 2) but they are out of stock as well...

...was finally able to get a black one and blue one full-price through Walmart using Mypoints (8 pts/$) and my Disney card (1% back)... but neither the model nor the deal I was hoping for.

I'd suggest if you're considering this for you little one, you go hunting now... everyone's running out and the purple one is already going for $79 ($54 in the store, but nobody has any) on Amazon. I bought the two I did hoping that I'll be able to get the purple one later, when more stock comes in (singed up for all the email alerts, wish me luck!), then I can return these.

These are my fallback furbies.

There were tons of them at TRU last week when I was there. They were in one of those big bins in the front of the store. I remember thinking that they must not be as hot as people thought, but I guess I was wrong.

I already got one at Target, when it was on sale. I have no idea if my kids even want it. I worry it'll be like last year's Fijit friend... the kids looked at that for 3 minutes and then tossed it in the back of the closet.

Sigh. If you told me everyone was jumping off a bridge, I'd do that, too.

You can preorder them on the Hasbro website. They have all of the colors and ship for free late October.

Thank goodness my kids have not seen or asked for one this year. My nephew has a collection of plastic ones from about 5 years ago.

I think if I had kids in this age group I would buy them and tuck them away with the receipt. If they ask for them, you have them. If they don't ask for them you can return them and someone who was looking for them will be thrilled to find them.

Careful, I gave four of these things out as gifts and ALL of them have broken at the 24-48 hour mark. Returned them back to Target and the lady said they've been non-stop returning them because of issues.

Our Target has a bunch of them to include the purple one. They are $54 here.

I laughed when I read through this thread. I was in a store with my 27 year old DD the other day and she saw a display ad on the Furby's. "Mom, I remember those when I was a kid!" What can I say. :rotfl2:

Good to know. We had TERRIBLE luck with our Fijjits last year, both broke within 48 hours... I can't say for sure if I returned them or if I threw them away in disgust and later thought "I SHOULD have returned them..." Hopefully if they are defective, Wallyworld won't give me any grief about it.

That's about what I'm planning to do, though my oldest was looking at the website earlier today and surprised the HECK out of me by wanting the blue one (which I've already ordered...) I just might be able to stick with the ones I have! Unfortunately, it's a given that my girls will want these. You could sell them a poop-and-ground-glass slushie if you advertised it on the kids stations and said "Quantities are limited, get yours NOW!!!"

People are already trying to pirate them on Ebay, but most aren't going for anything more than the $54 most stores are asking for. I think I'm going to stick with the ones I've ordered unless I get a better deal from KMart later on (kickbacks and all).

What?!? Furbys are back AGAIN! Augh! :scared1:

I agree! I had a few when I was younger and these things got so creepy... my brother and I would try to turn them off by hiding them under the bed and they'd always "wake up" and scare the crap out of us!

I saw this thread and thought "Did I just time travel back to 1998?"

I wanted one, and my Mom couldn't find one, so I didn't end up getting it until after Christmas. Santa lost a lot of his credibility that year.

Oh my Goodness!!!
I think I still have one of these in the box somewhere! LOL! :lmao:
I got two and the first one was SO annoying, I never opened the second one...I remember that dumb thing crying "Furby sick...ooooohhhhhh!!!!!" and it would literally cry like it was in pain! :rotfl2:

My TRU had a bunch on sale last week. I got my daughter the purple one for $49.99 because I had a $5 off coupon on top of the sale price. Manager did the override to allow it. I had one of these things when I was in college. We would stick a "cigarette" ;) In it's mouth and furby would say yum lol! :rotfl2:

DD was 4 or 5 when Furbies were hot the first time. She had 2 and eventually she hid them under her bed because they wouldn't shut up. They would start 'talking' and when she wasn't playing with them and scare her to death LOL. I ended up selling them at a yard sale a couple of years ago for $1 each.

DD just had to have one of those Fijit friends. What a waste. She was excited the first day then that was it. Even now she says she wished she had listened to me and asked for something else because it was such a waste. If she asks for the Furby I will remind her of this.

I remember when the Furby's came out years ago when my sister and I were little and you couldn't get them anywhere. I called all over town and was able to find one for my sister. And when we got it home and tried to play with it, it was such a let down.

I still have an original in its box in the basement...
