Let's hear about those furry (or not so furry) little children in your lives! :dog: :cat: :fish:

I think everyone knows Petey by now. He's the smartest, most loyal and cutest dog I've ever known. He can spell too! He knows what W-A-L-K spells, he knows what O-U-T spells, and he knows T-R-E-A-T too. He's a very fast learner. Whatever I've really worked to teach him he's picked up in a day or so. And he always knows when momma needs a kiss. :dogdance:

awwww...Thanks for sharing! Does Petey have a Dogster page?

plgrn: Thats a cool site. I just made one for Jake. I'll make one for Sassy later. But for now, here's Jake

I have a little parakeet named Spike. He's two yrs. old,& I've had him for about a yr. & 1/2 now. At least I think so anyway. :p My b/f got him for me at PetLand, & he keeps me company during the day. You can see pics of him here .

This is Duke, who we had to put down a week and a half ago, and George, our obnoxious, but lovable papillon.

Duke was a great boy, such a gentle giant. George is a little lover, even if he does chase the cats around the house and bite their ears.

How did your pets come into your life? Let's hear their stories.

Apricotwas a sweet little stray that was in our church parking lot one rainy night when I was 10 years old. Mom convinced Dad to take him home "just until it quits raining." It's been raining for 14 years!

Krissy was adopted from a local shelter. She picked me by jumping into my lap and purring contentedly as soon as I walked into the room.

Chewie was found by my husband in the parking lot of his office building. He brought her home as a present for me even though he's not much of a cat person!

Casey was my gift to DH. He was left tied up to our neighbor's shed all day every day for almost the first year of his life. I asked them to let us know if they ever wanted to get rid of him and we would gladly take him. That day came when he was 10 months old! He has a huge back yard to play in now.

I'm so sorry about Duke. I've been through that and it's not easy! :sad2:

I have two fat sassy persians: Haze and Casper

and the cutest little shih tzu you have ever seen named Sebastian. :goodvibes

What a cutie! He seems to have a lot of personality and attitude. ;) Is he noisy?

So sweet! So tell me how SHE got the name "Jake" ;)

I love that sight. You can even make diary entires for your pets! I haven't gone that far yet. :p

I have 2 kitties. One is a tortie, who is freakishly smart. Her name is Sabrina.

My other cat is my "baby." Her name is Newkitty. She is a dilute torbie with white accessories. She has IBD, pancreatitis, and diabetes. She has to put up with twice-daily shots, all kinds of pilling, and special food to stay feeling well. Through it all, she is the most patient, sweetest, most loving baby you could find. And very much my shadow these days. She deserves a better name (long story) but she generally gets called "Nooba" or "bunny." I could not ask for a better kitty!

I have two dogs. Bogart a lot of people on here know. And the little one is Sophie. I need to take more pictures of her.

One day at work a lady was making some deliveries. One of my co-workers helping her unload the van said I just had to come out and see the puppy she had. She had an adorable white poodle puppy, 6 weeks old and I just fell in love with her. I snuggled her and loved on her and was crushed when she said she was already spoken for but she did have a black one I could have. I asked Dh about it and he said yes so I called her and said I'd take him. She wanted $100 for him. Pretty fair price I thought.

The day before he was to be delivered she called and said someone had offered her $500 for him and she just couldn't turn that down but that she had an apricot who's new family had backed out on the adoption. I said I'd take him. The next morning Petey came to my office. He was an adorable little orange fuzzball and he spent the day in my scrub pocket and sleeping in my desk drawer (boss said he could stay). I was in love  I really believe he was meant to be mine. He is my soul puppy. Oh, about 2 weeks later I got a letter from the breeder. In it she enclosed his CKC papers. She never told me he was CKC, only that he was pure bred. I'll never understand why she sold registered puppies for $100. :confused3 That explains her being offered so much for the one I was supposed to get. Fine with me though, I got the perfect dog for me and we are both very attached to each other.

DH and I have 2 dogs: Lady is a 13 year old lab/shepard who is really good natured. She is definitely DH's dog, and has just started to actually like having me around :)

We just got a puppy, Jack, who is a Newfie / lab cross. He's adorable, and HUGE!!! 10 weeks old and 30 pounds. He's just starting to learn that pooping and peeing are things to be done outside. He's afraid of the rain, and generally refuses to go outside in the rain. Too bad we've had a week of rain recently....

I'm really suprised how well Lady has done with having a puppy. She's definitely an alpha dog, and has been the only dog for about 4 years. She's really good with the puppy - she doesn't get annoyed when he tries to eat her food, sleep on her bed, sit in her seat in the car. She plays really well with him, and will bark at him when he goes too far. He's her shadow - anything she does, he does. She's already taken him swimming :)

Someday, I'll get a good picture of the two of them and post it. I'm trying to get a picture of the 2 of them, DH and I for our Christmas cards. It'll probably take me until Christmas to actually get one.

I have 4 cats - 3 live with me and 1 was catnapped by my parents. I'll brag on my Ally - affectionately known as "The Hoo". She doesn't meow, she just says, "hoo hoo". She is the light of my life. After having to put down my 21 year old cat, I went to a shelter. I picked up The Hoo out of her cage and held her. Then, I put her back. She freaked out. She was beating on the cage and flipping over her water and food. I figured she wanted to come home with me. After filling out paperwork (and wondering if I needed a blood sample), I took the shelter worker to get The Hoo out of the cage. Well, someone else was holding her! I pointed and shouted, "That's MY cat!" and practically tore her from the other person's arms. I rode home with her and she had no name. The whole way home, she whined. So, I named her Ally...after Ally McBeal (she's whiny, too). And so began my life with The Hoo. She is always by my side. She has a pink pillow next to my side of the bed. At night, I put my hand down the side of the bed and she licks my hand. When I sit on the recliner, she sits on the foot rest with her head on my ankle. When I get my injections at night, she sits at my feet and looks scared and "hoo hoos" at DH to try and get him to stop. We were meant to be together. :cloud9: I miss my Patch terribly, but I know that she went when she did so I could have Ally. If she had died earlier or later, I wouldn't have Ally. She's with me now. Curled up on the bed with me. She likes the laptop. :)

Oh yeah, he does have attitude - sometimes he'll think he's a big bird in a parakeet body. He's somewhat noisy, only chirping when he hears someone come in *he's the welcoming commity*, or if I have the window open & he hears the birds outside. Also, he doesn't like it when my b/f clips his wings.

Yes, that's Apricot. He was so miserable when Chewie came to live with us, that he went to live with his "grandparents" where he is very happy.
