This is not an important thing, but somebody has the name "Yellow Mickey Ponchos", and it reminded me of this time I went with my family to Disneyland.

I'm in a wheelchair, and the old wheelchair entrance had me coming back out and meeting the incoming "guests" in the hallway as I made my exit. It was a very wet day, and they had run out of yellow ponchos, so they were selling clear ones, which looked white in low light.

Well, I came out, in my poncho and my wheelchair, with my poncho billowing out behind me. Somebody got off of the elevator, saw me, assumed I was part of the attraction and screamed!

Once I got over being startled, and my husband realized what had happened, he started laughing hysterically, and so did I.

Does anybody else have any funny Disneyland stories?

that was the best story i have heard all day :lmao:
i wish i had seen that! :rotfl2:

My dad said that the pointy yellow ponchos underneath the yellowish lights from the parking lot (back when there was a parking lot) made everyone look like members of the Mickey Mouse branch of the KKK.

We laugh now BUT..... at the time Dd and I were scared to death.

She was an extra little girl, we were riding down an Escalator at WDW and her shoelace caught in the end of the stairs, she yelled, I grabbed her up to keep the shoe from going more into the escalator!! I was yelling HELP, HELP to everyone coming off and no one even stopped to help us. And her foot was getting closer and closer to the stair. When all of a sudden a Tall Man just reached down with one quick pull, the lace came right out of the stair. I hugged Dd up tight and thanked him thanked him!! That was the start of Disney Magic for us!!

Just before we left to go to WDW I had seen a 20/20 about people that had been badly hurt by escalators. And this Man helped saved my 4 yr old baby!!

When I worked at Mervyn's in college we were taught that you could kick the bristles on the escalator's hand rail to stop it in an emergency. They are down near the floor where the rubber hand rail goes under. I don't know if they are all this way, but I did do that once when shopping in a different store and small boy got his shoelace stuck and it worked there.

That ghost story is hilarious! :)
