From this past week:

Group of 30-40s women in front of Mexico:
First woman: "Now we have to be reasonable, patient and all get along."
Second woman: "No we don't."

Couple walking toward World Showcase:
Man: "What's that house?"
Woman: "That's the American pavilion."

Girls with me on Test Track (I was single rider).
Heat chamber: "Tanning bed!"
Corrosive spray: "Hair spray!"
Then they yelled out, "10 percent, 20 percent, 30 percent," around each corner. In a bizarre coincedence, they rode TZTOT with me the next day!

It seems this one trip, I kept hearing all of these funny things….
1. “hey kids…that’s discovery island over there….that’s where Wet ‘n Wild is!”
2. “Is Walt Disney Still alive??”(this was about two years ago!!)
3. “the castle…it looks so real!
4. As we were riding the boat from ttc over to magic kingdom, this father yells out…”honey..that’s where they put the cars” as he was pointing to discovery Island.
5. a frustrated mother yelling out at her kids “if you two don’t stop having fun, I am going to leave you here!!” this is funny on two levels…one..you don’t want your kid to have fun??? And second, like being left in Disney world is such a bad thing!!

Another funny bit riding along in a Disney bus. A father pointed at Blizzard Beach and said, "look, it's Splash Mountain." His small child said that it was Blizzard Beach but the father insisted it was Splash. They went back and forth for a couple minutes!

I love the Splash Mtn debate...

I think there's nothing funnier than hearing some wdw rookie showing off his "expertise" on the wdw bus. It seems we hear at least one on every trip. Especially when it's the parent that's wrong and the kids are the ones who are right.

I guess that's why I try to stay quiet on the bus, no sense giving away my ignorance....:)

hee hee! Good thread! We are Disney veterans ourselves and I can't count how many times people have argued with us that ONLY The MK is Disneyworld and AK, MGM & Epcot are all different parks just like Universal and Busch Gardens!

We had this really funny bus driver on the way to MK one morning not too long after 9/11. She was late 50's-60 and Asian with a beautiful voice and personality. She was so funny the whole way. She thanked everyone for riding with her today because if we did not come to WDW and ride her bus she would not have a job and could not feed her dogs. She went on to tell us more ways to spend money that day so WDW would not have to lay her off. It was all light and funny, not a complain type thing at all. She had everyone in stitches before we got to MK. We watched for her all week but never saw her again.

When my Dsis and I were kids we were allowed to ride the buses around DW by ourselves as long as we didn't get off...(this was the early 80's mind you)...anyway, we would just sit and listen and laugh at all the know it alls. One day while we were riding along a girl about our age 9 or so decided to pick her nose ( and I mean really go at it!!!) and rub it all over the pole on the back of the bus. Needless to say that pretty much did it for us a far as touching the poles on the buses...To this day my sisters and I will not touch the poles or let our kids do it either...but we usually tell our DH's to do it...just so we can crack up(we never told them what is so funny!!!!)

LOL reminds me of a friend. Now this person has never been to WDW, but has an ault and uncle who stay at FW every yr for 3 weeks. This friend insist my children must hate me for dragging them to a place for retired people. Last yr her father took her son down there for a few days to visit the ault and uncle. Well my friend fussed that she didn't understand why her aunt and uncle stayed at Disney world since they took her son the the "other" parks instead. I said, oh great so he went to US/IOA/SW. "No ",she said," they took him to some little rinky-dink places she never heard of called Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and MGM. At least they did take him the Epcot, but she still doesn't understand why they didn't just take him to DisneyWorld since that is where there were staying?"

My cousin went to WDW for 3 days on the way to the beach. They had no idea what to expect and went in the middle of the summer. Well they hated it and can't understand why we like it so much, and why we would ever go back. she insist they did everything there is to do in 3 days.

Overheard at work: "Oh, this is great, we'll be staying off-site, but we're only 5 minutes away."
Response from co-worker:"Oh, that's good, then, you'll be able to walk to Disney."

This happened 5 years ago....we were walking down Main St and there was a mom walking/dragging her 3yo(ish) ds down Main St.

He was snotnosed, red faced and whining very loudly, "I don't wanna have any more fun!"

Now I know it's probably not funny that this kid probably just wanted to sleep, but the whole visual that went along with it was funny!

Besides, my dh and I were on our honeymoon and we had left our (Brady Bunch clan) kids at home. ...so we were even more happy to be enjoying WDW without kids! LOL!

What a meanie I am to find this hysterical! ;)

Oh ya, my apologies to any of you if it happened to be your child! LOL!!!!! Just kidding!:teeth:

Ok, this was said to US!!

We were walking out of EPCOT one night a few weeks ago and my DH had my youngest dd on his shoulders. We were enjoying the leisurely walk out when this man and woman come up behind us laughing and say, "Your daughter is mooning everyone behind you...". We turn around and there are a bunch of people in stitches, laughing, including the couple's son... I look up at my dd (2 years old) and see that as my dh put her on his shoulders, her pants had ridden down a bit and were exposing half her butt! Oh My!! We quickly pulled them up. But is was soooo funny!

So, next time you hear, "Your daughter's mooning everyone!"... laugh for us please!

(Standing in MGM, AK, or Epcot) "But I want to go to Disney World! " (meaning MK)

My own DH does this every year and it drives me crazy. We'll be at a WDW hotel and he'll say "What day are we going to Disney World?" He means Magic Kingdom of course, but for some reason he just can't remember that. My reply is always "Aaaaaah We are IN Disney World!!!"

Young husband and wife with 2 little ones who looked exhausted:
Husband: No! I'm not going to do that!
Wife with a mean look and saying through her teeth: Yes you are! You are going to have fun! (meaning do it or I'm going to kill you!)

I will probably see an incident on here about my DH and myself!

;)

The one I always laugh at is when people call the Magic Kingdom "Disney", as "We'll go to Disney in the morning and EPCOT in the afternoon".

I have told this story many times but I don't remember if I said it on this board.

I had a friend that I worked with that was always listening to my talk about WDW. She and her husband decided, based on what I had said, to have their next vacation at Walt Disney World. They got one of the more expensive packages and stayed at the Grand Floridian.

When they returned, she couldn't wait to tell me that she had been duped and really couldn't understand why I thought the place was so great. They thought the whole place was incredibly boring.

I, of course, had to question her because nothing was making any sense. Bear in mind that I had given her a number of tour books about WDW and some vacation planning videos, etc. It didn't take long to get to the problem. She and her husband choose to walk past all the "hidden rides" such as Pirates, CoP, Country Bears, HM and so on. They had convinced themselves that those buildings were just souvenier shops because they were to small to have anything going on inside them. They actually walked around the parks for 6 days and only saw the more obvious rides, Dumbo, Teacups, etc. but didn't go to them because it was obvious they were for kids.

Now I really liked this person but I just couldn't believe that anyone could possibly be that spaced out. She told me later that next year they were going to go on a cruise so they would have something to do. My thought is they will probably stand on the dock and watch the boat leave. If it wasn't so frustrating it would be absolutely a blast.

Here are some snippets:

While at AKL on Kali River Rapids
"Does this river go back to the hotel Daddy?"

While at Epcot at Food Rocks
"Daddy, my Pineapples don't sing like that one!"

While at Epcot
"Daddy, when are we going back to Disneyworld, this isn't Disneyworld" (i.e. as noted elsewhere Disneyworld = MK)

While on Monorail
"Daddy, that is a nice hotel, can we stay there?"
(while going by GF - kid has expensive tastes)

While at Minnie's House in MK
"Daddy where is Minnie"
"She is over with Mickey"
"What are they doing Daddy?"
At this point DH (me) and DW lost it and could not stop laughing.....

While waiting in line for Winnie the Pooh
"Daddy, I don't like Honeypots"
"Well we have to ride Honeypots to get a ticket for Racecars (Tomorrowland Speedway) and then we get a ticket for the Teacups (Madhatter) and then we get Train tickets for the Steam Train"
"Mommy, Daddy is being silly!"

While watching the Disney Resort Video last night
"Daddy, I went on that ride"
"Yes, you did"
"Where am I in the video?"

Lots of laughs from WDW and after - part of the magic

Thanks
Jaysue (DH half)
