Another one that my 6yo said recently that I did tattle about, uh, I mean tell about on another thread--he shares a room with his older brother. We've been meaning to put bunkbeds in their room, but to do so meant taking the bed out of my DD's room, but we were waiting for her to go to college and then getting a different bed for her room. So we just did the bunk beds in their room, which meant that he just gave up his toddler bed at 6yo (and he barely fit in it, the poor kid). I mentioned to him that I needed to clean the bed up so I can sell it and he fell apart crying, not wanting to part with the bed. I told him that he's too big for the bed, but his response was, "What if I shrink?".

OK-this came from my older grandson--he's 13. We are always joking about how someday they'll (He and his younger brother, who's almost 11) have to choose my nursing home, when I'm old and can't take care of myself. They have always promised that they would find only the very best home for me.

The other day he was angry at me for something--who knows what. He looked at me and said in a dead serious voice "This isn't looking too good for me finding the best nursing home for you".

Not my child ... but one of my Kdg. students last year told me:

"Mrs. W, I'm going to miss you when you're dead!"

Uhhhh ... didn't have any plans on dying quite yet, but thanks for the kind thought!

When my SIL was pregnant with her 2nd son, her oldest was 2. SIL had told my nephew that his new little brother was on the way, and his name would be Tommy.

We had to go check something my DB's computer, and discovered it had been turned off (normally it's left on 24/7). SIL asks my nephew if he turned off Daddy's computer (big no-no, he wasn't supposed to go into Daddy's office, let alone touch the computer).

My nephew answered. "No, Mama, Tommy did it!"

Somehow, we didn't quite believe him....
