I'm sure people have heard funny things at Universal, just like at Disney. Today, when we got off ROTM, we were behind a man and his daughter from the UK. She was asking if he thought Mummy would like it, and he said "Let's just not tell Mummy that the ride is scary." LOL, I would have liked to see Mummy when she got off Mummy:lmao:

That's FUNNY! I took my MIL to WDW last year and told her that SM was a nice tame ride and that drop we saw was from another ride....she didn't buy it though. Couldn't get her on ANYTHING other then It's a Small World or Pirates......Too bad, would love to see her screaming....Next time will try to convice her that RnRC is a relaxing lazy ride....she's too smart for that!

We were visiting Universal with my parents and decided to ride the Mummy. I told my Mom who is 70 that it was a rollercoaster and she said she'd do it. We fly through the Express line and as we are waiting for out seat assignment she says.."Why does this look like a rollercoaster?"...Me .."Uh cause it is" lol. Ay yi yi...that being said my Dad made her sit in the front row and she loved it lol.
:confused3

My son is like you; therefore, I always ask here before I ride anything new, LOL.

We were there last week. While we were in line for Forbidden Journey, an English family was behind us. The little boy was complaining and whining about everything: The heat, the crowd, the wait, the fact that he had to lock up his bag. Finally his mother, in her very proper and very lovely English accent, turned to him and said, "Well, I'm sorry they didn't roll out the red carpet for you." It quickly became my family's in-joke for the remainder of the trip!

As we were walking in and getting our first glimpse of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a guy in his 20s got very excited.

"Oh my god, oh my god! It's Platform 9 and 3/4! Quick! Someone help me find a wall to run into!"

Not to pick on the British but...

Several years ago I was in line for Dueling Dragons and the British family in front of me were asking each other what child swap was. The daughter...about 13 or so I guessed...said in all seriousness..."Mum that's where you can exchange your child for another."

I just about fell down laughing and the daughter was very red when I explained to them what child swap really was.

Good to know us Brits provide some entertainment for you all :rotfl:

It works both ways, we've heard some gems from our American friends. Usually it's because of words having different meanings in UK and the US.

I'm British American, raised between both countries as my mum married a Yank. I spent most of my childhood in the UK though and even though I've lived off and on in the States for years, I still get the giggles when it comes to the differences in word meanings. I still laugh like heck everytime I'm in the parks and see a huge sign for "fanny packs" or hear a child innocently use that term. I just can't help it.:lmao:

My son jokes that I need to do that kind of child swap, so I can get on Pteranadon Flyers(he is way too tall).

Please do tell. I would love to hear some funnies! I definitely mean no disrespect to our friends from the UK. I actually think the accent is so nice that even the parents fussing at their kids sound more pleasant than Americans on their best day:goodvibes.

When we rode Men in Black in June, there was a Grandpa and Grandson behind us. The little boy was about 5. When we were done the ride, waiting to be let off, the little boy says, "That was the best ride ever. Bang! Bang! Gotchoo sucka!!!!"

It was very cute!

Us too :rotfl:

Our son was 13 on our first trip and the first time he heard someone say fanny pack........his face was a picture, we were doubled over laughing at him looking so shocked :lmao: :lmao:

Us Brits call then Bum bags or waist packs, not Fanny Packs........and the reason is explained in one of my tags left by the lovely Tag Fairy under my username for those that don`t know

Oh there are always so many, I'm off to Orlando tomorrow so hopefully I'll come back with some new quotes to share :thumbsup2

I always find it strange when people comment on my accent (even in the UK, accents change rapidly within a few miles), they're the one with the accent ;)

Oh, believe me, I know. There are so many accents here in the US. I just think other countries have more pleasant accents than us.
