I was putting dishes away when there was a knock on the door. Three teenage girls asked me if I had something bigger than a papermache bat they could have. They were on a treasure hunt with their youth group and they were going from house to house trying to get larger items. I had an old bike on my porch that was headed for the trash so I gave it to them. ;) They met up with the other teens on the sidewalk and you should have seen the look on their faces when they came out with a bike. Hope they won!

Lisa, Quick!!!! Send them to my house. I have lots of stuff they can have!!!!:jester:

TC:cool:

LOL! That's funny but that was also very nice of you to give them that bike too :)

So how big is a paper mache bat??? :p I wish I could see the look on the youth group organizer's face when they brought the bike back. :p :p

Very funny and very cool. :p

Ha!
We did that one time and someone gave us their car that wouldn't start! LOL
We pushed that thing about 1/2 mile! LOL

Sounds like fun! That was nice you contributed!

A CAR!:earseek: And I thought the bike was large. It makes me laugh every time I think about it.

Those girls sure scored a bargain:D

Bet they were mighty pleased & thankful to you.

I hope they won too.:Pinkbounc

LOL Poohbear! I live in Mayberry. ;) I actually have neighbors who call our local police, all three of them, when they see a strange car. It can get on my nerves at times but its a great place for my kids to grow up.

WOW, I bet they we're shocked to get a bike.

sounds like where i grew up. :)

this is so cliche, but all i ever wanted to do when we lived there was leave. now i wish i could go back. :(

Sounds like a nice town. Scavenger hunts were always so fun growing up. I wish my children could have the same memories, but the way things are headed, doesn't look like they'll be knocking on anyone's door we don't know.

We did this with my Youth Group once.... we started with a Bible, and my group came back with a bathtub..... since it was my house we had the party at, that bathtub sat in our yard for a couple of days before my dad could get rid of it. I'm quite sure he didn't think that was a good game at all.... I wonder how much he had to pay to get rid of that thing. Heeheeeheee!:p :p

I remember doing one of those. While my group never received anything as large or unique as a bicycle, I do remember we had to find a church program from a specific date. Growing up in a small, south Georgia town, this was not terribly difficult. My parent's lives seem to revolve around church.

What fun! I'll bet you made their day :)

Thats awesome! Sounds like they were having a good time.:)

That is so cool. Kudos to you for giving them the bike, I bet they were thrilled. :) Sounds like fun.

caitycaity that's the way I felt growing up but I don't regret moving back when my kids were little. Mayberry has its advantages. ;)

Fishbone† how in the world did you get the bathtub back to your house?!
