I got an idea for a new thread while telling my DH about how his fav. Ride Indy might be closed when we got to DL this September. His reaction was so childish I had to tell you guys about it..
It got me to thinking about others reactions to ride closers

please post funny things your family have said or done after finding out there ride is going to closed why they are at DL.
..

This was DH reaction

Last night DH says -" i'm going 3000 miles, 6 hours on plane with a 10 mo., trapped for 6 days with your mother on a boat, and now you tell me the only ride i want to go on might be closed!" :rolleyes1

I might be thrown over board if this ride closes before we get there:scared:

Tell your DH that you have it on good authority (me), that Indiana Jones is closing permanently and the last day is September 15th, and report back with your results

:stir:

I did this earlier today.....

DH said, " and there Is nothing you and your crazy freaky Disney Dis friends can do to keep it open one more day!!!!" ( asking like a 3 year old would in a whinning voice)
" what good is all that time you spend posting and researching if you guys can't even find a loophole to keep one ride open one more day???"
He stated has he stomps off to go take a shower :rotfl2::rotfl2:

My DD said " daddy Disney has to close some rides to make new rides"
Which is what we told her about snow white closing in WDW....
DD -" now you know how I feel, when the stuff you say doesn't make me feel better"
:rotfl2:

I don't have anything to add...sorry...but this was hilarious! Men can be such boys at times, right? :rotfl:

Couldn't have said it better . . . . I experience this with my hubby and son all of the time. My daughter seems to take things more in stride. Drives me insane. :rotfl2:

"The difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toys."

LOL! Totally!!

I told DH that Indy & possibly BTMRR might be closed during our trip. So he stops dead in his tracks, looks me right in the eyes and says "well then, we just have to reschedule".

LOL....as if my months of planning & our PREPAID hotel reservations along our road trip mean nothing.:rotfl2:

So I told him to "woman up, and put his big girl panties on & deal". LOL!:rotfl:

I hate to think what our men would do if will tell them there is chance we may not get on CARS RACERS.. Since it seems to be breaking down every 15 min :rolleyes1

I haven't even told DH about this....

DS & I watched some YouTube videos of the Racers and DS wasn't too impressed. Said it looked boring.:confused3 But most likely because you can't see SPEED in the videos...so DS has no idea how fast it really goes. I asked someone on another thread if it really went *that* fast & she said it was faster then Test Track in WDW.

DH thought it might be cool but DS could care less....weirdos!:lmao:

Their fav ride is BTMRR and DH was so mad at me that I would plan our Disney trip when this ride was closed. LOL! As if I knew months ahead of time & purposely planned our trip for when his fav ride was down!!:rotfl2:

Agreed, I haven't mentioned any of this to my DH! Its better if he doesn't know until it gets closer. ;) As my plan was to console him with new racers if Indy is down.

Well if they are both down maybe we can plan a playDate... Plus with they way they are acting maybe heimlich's chew chew train would be more there speed!! :rotfl:

Last year was our first Halloween Party, and my Disney friend and I were VERY excited about dressing up. (Probably more excited than grown women should have been.) As soon as we decided to go, my friend knew she was going to go as a pirate. The goal, of course, was to "ride Pirates, dressed as a pirate!" (I was wearing my Jedi costume, and totally planning to go on Star Tours, even though it makes me kinda sick.)

She had a decent pirate outfit already, but since we were going to be in Disneyland, she wanted to put something nicer together. She bought a beautifully embroidered waist cincher and a new peasant blouse, and the fabric to make a new skirt. She researched at length to find the right pattern for a "traditional" pirate skirt. She ordered new pirate jewelry online.

Then, a month before our trip, we learned that Pirates would be down for refurb. She had A FIT and announced that she wasn't going to wear a costume after all. After all the money she'd spent, and all the work she'd done, she was prepared to just leave it all at home. I talked her back into wearing it, but every conversation about our trip we had after that was about how unfair it was that she couldn't ride Pirates, dressed a pirate.

The night of the party, we came up with a compromise...Peter Pan, in a flying pirate ship, dressed as a pirate. She scared the crap out of the CM when she drew her plastic sword and shouted, "Cast off, me hearties!" before the ship took off, but it was worth it.

And she looked great in her costume. She got compliments all night, including from several "Captain Jacks".

We just got back and made it on the cars ride my hubby waited in line for the fast passes.....but heard so many other horror stories so be prepared.... 3 of the 5 days it broke down and 2 of the days it was closed ALLLLLL day!!!! some people told us they had waited and hr and a half just not to be able to ride... :( one guy stayed an extra day just so he could get on it!! LOL he made it that time It was fun though

A few things came to mind when I thought about reacting to ride closure but they are mainly based on arriving at the ride and realizing then that it is closed. I would love to see someone act out Heston's part in Planet of the Apes while staring at the destroyed statue of liberty. Just go up to the closed ride and drop to your knees and start pounding the pavement.

:rotfl: You have no idea how many times I've pictured that in my head when a ride goes down and for one reason or another the CM can't get it back up...
