I know in my family, my uncle has a tendency to nickname everything, restaurants, places, etc. so I was thinking about WDW. I'm sure some people have some funny nicknames for WDW, rides, shows, boats, etc.

So, if you or your family is creative and funny, let's share!

We shorten or call most things something different. Here are a few that are a little farther off than chopping the name....

Spaceship Earth - EPCOT ball
Primevil Whirl - Primevil Hurl
Jungle Cruise - Jungle Snooze
Lights Motor Action - THE Stuntshow

This is not a nickname but fun to share here.
One morning we headed for ToT at Studio opening and it was really foggy, especially up high.
We turned the corner to walk to the Tower, and there were stories 10-13 shrouded in mist. It was even creepier than usual.
My DD said, "Nice effect." And the other said, "Not even Disney can do that."
That was up to a higher power.....

...that my daughter's band director refers to something as "Circus Ole." Figure it out.
:scared1:

BTMRR will always be "The Runaway Train", just because somebody in our group won't get used to the official name.

You can imagine the many alternative names for Winnie the Pooh... ;)

We also do Primevel Hurl. There is also Astro Vomitor. I also call Dinosaur "That freakin' ride that threw out my back!"

Not a ride nickname, but we've always called the Yachtman's Steakhouse the Yakman's. Now AK will have a Yak and Yeti restaurant. Go figure  .

My kids have always called Splash Mountain "Brer Rabbit". We still all call TTA the People Mover.

That would be Cirque du Soleil at Downtown Disney...

We also use the affectionate Primeval Hurl or I call it the Puke a Whirl...

Then there is "The Wide Waste of Space"... (also known as the Wide
World of Sports).

The Haunted Mansion is "The Spooky House"

and when we I want to go to Spaceship Earth I just say "Can we go listen to Jeremy Irons" and hubby knows what I want to do... He could talk to me all day with that accent.

There's an appetizer at Jiko that my friend named the "Tower of Tuna"

Apparently the chefs like to call it that, too.

;)

I do that too!! I can blame growing up going to Six Flags over Texas for that.

I've also been known to phonetically call PotC the "Potsy" ride.

Someone over on the "annoying" thread said she hates it when people call Mission: Space "Mission to Mars" Thoroughly admitting that I do that. Which is really sad considering I have ridden the original Mission to Mars ride, but I just can't get used to the Mission: Space name. I think it's b/c there are already 2 rides with "Space" in the title so I keep thinking, "wait, you always say this wrong. What is it again? Well they wouldn't confuse people by using 'space' again, so it's got to be 'Mars'." And now you know how my brain works :rolleyes1

TTA = People Mover...thats the way it was, and the way it will stay...haha:rotfl2: !!

For some reason the Tiki Room became the Tiki birds...only sometimes lol
