I got at one with just my finger. It gave me a pop. It's one of my earliest cognizant memories. It was also the last time I did that.

My DD was all attitude at like 5. We went to see a horse and they had electric fence. I said do not touch. She looked right at me, smirked and touched it. Never did that again. It was so hard not to say told you so!

I've learned that there are "learn the easy way" people and "learn the hard way" people. It doesn't expire with childhood...lol.

I'm definitely a member of the "learn the hard way" team. It's helped to realize this as a parent of one of each. I wish I could apologize to my mom..
