When we moved into our current house the smoke detector in the kitchen was way too sensitive. It went off one evening while my wife was making dinner, then a couple more times over the next couple weeks. One night it happened and my then two year old shouts out "Yay, dinner's done." Have to point out my wife never burned anything on those occasions the detector went off.
