On our cruise on the Magic last week, we were among a crowd of people waiting for the midship elevators one evening. One of the few things that has always irked me about the classic ships is how small the elevators are. Anyway, we had six adults in the elevator, and an additional adult couple then came in. There was just enough room for us all, so no problem there, but an alarm in the elevator went off and a light on the panel that said "overload" started flashing. I knew that elevators have weight limits, but had never seen this before. So the woman who was the last one in sees this and pushes her male companion out of the elevator while exclaiming loudly "No buffet for you tomorrow!"

I think that will give me a little motivation to go light at the buffet next time.
