We just returned from a great stay at the Poly from 1/30-2/6. I just had to share one of my favorite experiences from the trip. We were eating at the Poly counter service (Capt. Cook's) one afternoon when a guy comes through the side door with a giant cup with a T-Rex head on the cap. The thing has the words "T-Rex" plastered all over it. Clearly he bought it at the T-Rex restaurant at Downtown Disney.
So comes in and starts trying to fill the cup with soda. One of the CMs working there comes over to him and politely tells him that he isn't allowed to fill that cup up there. The man, who had a pretty heavy Spanish accent, says "But I buy this cup at Disney..."
The CM went on to explain that the man had to buy the resort cup to take advantage of the refills and not just any old cup purchased at Disney. The guy was a little disappointed, but he learned something new!
My family and I were sitting right near the soda machine witnessing the whole exchange. It was all we could do to not start cracking up. For the last week since returning I've been saying "But I buy this cup at Disney..." to my kids. It still makes them laugh.
Anyway, just had to share my counter service story.
