OK, lets hear some stories! We all know about the occasional technical difficulty and difficult guests... Whats the oddest reason your ride was interrupted?
2 nights ago I was on ToT, on the last row, when the frat boys in the row in front of me decided half way through the forward moving room they wanted to be topless for their photo. So I'm sitting there thinking our picture just won't appear (ala "Flash Mountain"). Well, we get to the end of the room, our elevator just sits there in the shaft...no up or down. Suddenly, the "Voice from Above" says the ride will resume once all clothing has been replaced. So we sat there in the dark for another minute until these geniuses figured out that the CMs could see in the dark. I wonder if all the other elevators got stopped too, and wondered what kind of hotel they were checking into!

I don't have any to add that I can think of, but that would be hilarious.

My story is similar. My daughters and I were riding ToT in the back and there was a group of pre-teen girls riding in the front. As soon as the ride started, the girls began screaming at the top of their lungs, thrashing around and such...being silly. We missed all the special effects due to the screaming. And the ride stopped SEVERAL times, including right before the drops in complete darkness, with the "voice from above" instructing them to keep their feet on the floor. The idiots kept doing it and they kept stopping the ride. Eventually, at the drop part, they warned that the ride would end without the drops if they didn't stop. Geez! I was pretty irritated and frazzled by the time we got off.

WOW!! That's so strange!! If they were all male, I don't see the problem? Males are topless in the water parks?

We were about to 'launch' on SM when our rocket came an abrupt halt. The idiots behind me decided to put their baseballs caps on after being told to remove them. We sat there until a CM came and took their hats from them!! They had to go get them after the ride was over! You don't want loose clothing or objects hurtled around during a ride!

That's just the park rules - kinda like "No shirt, No shoes, No service!" ;)

But seriously, I know they thought that this would be fun, but ultimately it ruined the other riders' experiences!

Just remember - big brother is watching you!

Yes I agree, I would be so mad if the ride stopped and ruined the experience for me because of some immature boys! Esp since TOT is my favourite ride!

Last August on Splash Mountain a family kept taking of their shirts (all men and boys) and dipping them into the water! Yeah, it was hot but how dirty is that water? They stopped the ride a few times with a voice telling them to stop but they either couldn't understand English or else pretended not to. They were right in front of our boat and the kids were standing up towards the end - it totally stressed out the poor CMs who were waiting for everyone to get off.

This didnt stop the ride but it did stop our ride photo from printing. On Rockin Roller Coaster, some girl in a tube top lost her top. All we heard was sh&t! I lost my shirt! and DH really wanted that photo! :lmao:

Last year my husband was on Splash Mountain. I was waiting on the bridge with my kids for his boat to come down. When suddenly the whole ride shut down and a horn sounded. At the crest of the drop you could see a guy going between his boat and some kind of landing up there. A voice came over the speakers and told him "DO NOT MOVE...DO NOT MOVE". They got him and took him away and then the ride resumed. It was total craziness...I guess he had a panic attack and bailed!

when we were little we made my grandma ride splash mountain with us. right before the drop she passed out. the drop didnt revive her and neither did our shaking, yelling, and splashing water on her while we went around toward the exit. they had to stop the ride to revive her and let her get out of the boat. the cast members were pretty calm and had the smelling salts right there, so i assume it wasn't the first time it happened. it only took a few seconds, but i felt bad for the people stopped in the ride.

needless to say, we let grandma pick the rides for the rest of the day ;)

Last time we went to WDW my sister ( Tabbitha) was with us. She was handicapped. We went on Star Tours. the ride was going along just fine till it went dark. Soon some CMs came in and decided that my sister needed to be harnested in to the seat because she was being jerked around alot. They explained it to the people in the ride. After the got her strapped in the restarted the ride from the very begining. Some people clapped when they heard this. The rest of the trip We would here ever once in a while...' Hey there goes Tabitha.'

I don't know if this shuts down rides at the time, but I did read once that people spread loved one's ashes in rides. Once CM's find out they shut it down to clean it up.

I remember quite a few years ago we went on Alien Encounter and there was a large group from a well-known South American country in our theater. The CM's had to warm them in the pre-show because they were screaming in the pre-show when nothing scary happens... They had to stop the real show a few times because the girls were screaming throughout the thing, and I think one was trying to slide out from under the harness...

Also once we were on WedWay and they stopped the ride because some moron got out of the car and starting running on the track...

I had on idea the CM's could see in the dark!! I always wondered what would happen if someone got out of their seat or something happened!

If ToT stopped on me I would freak....

.......how is that possible? i mean.... you have shoulder restraints.... i understand difficulties with tube tops, but really...

honestly not sure how she lost it. All I know is my dd really wanted the photo- she is very much a chicken and wanted to prove to her friends she had rode all the thrill rides. After the ride, we went to get the photos and the CM stated we would have to ride again if we wanted a photo. So I assume, she reallly did lose her top. Cant imagine why Disney wouldnt allow people to purchase the ride photo otherwise.
