A few weeks ago while walking down the street in Adventure land, there were alot of birds flying around looking for food. I overheard a a woman say "I wish Disney would do something about those birds". I'm not sure what she expected Disney to do about wild birds.

Actually, in Future World at Epcot they play a recording of a bird in distress to warn away other birds. They were having problems with the birds trying to nest on and around the buildings and it was causing some problems.

Most people don't even know its playing unless they really listen for it. I always wondered why they didn't do this in the other parks as well.

The first time we took DDs to WDW, we stayed at the AS Movies. We were outside by the large letters that spell out ALL STAR MOVIES, and DH was taking pictures. DD11, who was about 7 at the time, was posing. She screams out, "wait, I want to sit in the "A" hole", at which time we all turned red and burst out laughing. DD just looked around and said "what?" (until she realized and laughed herself). Now, every time we go to WDW, we have to take a picture by the "A" hole. Ha, she will never live that down in this family!

:p :p :p

That is too funny!
Good thing I swallowed my coffee BEFORE I read the end of this one. :teeth:

OMG! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: This will keep me laughing all day! Too funny.

Myst

I hope this is as funny in print as it was in person....I have two stories to tell the 1st is cute and the 2nd one is....well...sad. It makes you wonder about some folks.

1. We were watching Fantasmic and it was the part where the wicked witch from snow white appears and the little girl if front of us screams...."She looks like Grandma."

2. We were walking behind a couple in the MK and the woman (very serious) says..."They must have a full-time electrician on staff here." and the man (again, very serious) says..."oh, I am sure they have more then one....I would think at least 4 or 5." :confused3

My family calls attractions by the wrong names on purpose now, because of doing it by accident at first.

A few years back, I had asked my husband to call and get us the Fantasmic meal package. He told me later that we were all set for "Fantasmagoric"!

And after a slip up of mine a couple of years ago, the ride in Adventureland will always be known as "Madden's Allagic Carpet Ride"

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

One summer, in Magic kingdom, we were waiting for the fireworks at the end of the night. My mom was filming them, starting with Tinkerbell starting them off. We all watch as Tinkerbell "flies" down the wire. A minute later my mom shouts (while still looking through the camera) "i see thumbelina...she should be coming down soon"

needless to say, we still pick on her for it!

im bumping this up with a story i read on www.hiddenmickeys.org

there was this pumpkin carving contest in 1995 and this person (not sure of the name) was watching it and this is what happened:
one of the pumpkins evidently fell off of the table, and was crushed. Around the carcass was a barricade, with a sign saying: "Please excuse our mess, this pumpkin is being refurbished for your future enjoyment."
i find that very funny
:rotfl:

I loved each of these stories! Thanks for making me smile! :)

One of the funniest things I've seen: A dad is taking pictures of his kids with Pocahontas and Meeko the raccoon. He steps on Meeko's foot, Meeko loses his balance, in slow motion he's sort of falling backwards. So the dad tries to grab Meeko and ends up making matters worse and knocks him down flat on the ground. He grabs Meeko around the waist and struggles to get him back on his feet. Then, embarassed, he mumbles, "Sorry, squirrel."

Meeko acted more offended at being called a squirrel than he was about being knocked down!!!

Another favorite-Walking out of MGM one night, it had rained and there were puddles everywhere. There were these two adorable little girls jumping in all the puzzles and singing that commercial jingle "I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight!" Hilarious.

How precious - I would have been laughing, too.

Not really funny and sad in many instances....but I have overheard some variation of: Shut up and have a good time!!!! too many times to count.

I heard that too. Another not funny one, when we were on the Disney cruise, we arrived at Castaway and everybody was getting off the tram on the beach...this dad, with a very heavy New York movie-style accent said to his kids...."Shut the f*** up!! I am going to beat every one of your F***ing a**es when we get back to the Bronx."

When I heard that, I was like...&!@%#$& &$%@^#) *!@^#$*@:faint:#*@#^@&!!!! How do you go to Disney (or anywhere for that matter) and talk to your children like that??? And in front of other people????

Haha, my mom has always called Test Track by the wrong name... "Fast Track." Does it every time. I also hear "Rock and Roll Rollercoaster" a lot. Oh, "Mission Mars" for Mission Space. Also, people are getting confused with the word "space" in so many rides, Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space. Then, people always want to know where to line up for the "Fantastic" show. I mean... there are lots of fantastic shows! :rotfl:

That is funny. I have a very close friend, who also works with me, that is as big of a Disney nut as I am....she and I talk about Disney so much that when we talk about attractions...everything has a shortened name or abbreviations. Our conversations are like this....

me: when you were there in October, did you ride, RnR?
her: yes, we went right from RnR to Tower
me: was this before or after Motor Cars?
her: we did the HV Fantasmic Dinner and saw Motor Cars
me: not sure if I want to ride RnR, but I will be seeing Indy this time and GMR
blah blah blah blah

When I talk to my husband about our upcoming trip, I use the acronyms and he looks at me like :confused3 :confused3 ???

We were waiting to get into Epcot and the lady in front of us asked the Cast Member where she could make dinner reservations. The Cast Member said Guest Relations was to the left of the big silver ball. The lady look at him and said:

"What Big Silver Ball?"

That is so sad!! :sad2:  I worry about some people spending so much $ and not having a flippin' clue about the most basic things. Oh well!
