Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

I heard some things yesterday, but they weren't really funny-funny, more like funny-strange.

While in line for Spaceship Earth, I overheard this interesting snippet of conversation from a mother to her approximately-9yo girl. The mom said, "...and the egg couldn't travel down the tube in the right amount of time... and so I had to get the tubes taken out of me. Does that make a little more sense to you now?" Interesting conversation while in line for Spaceship Earth...

While outside Buzz Lightyear:

Woman: This isn't a roller coaster, is it?
Man: I think it is.
Woman: I thought this was the one that just drives around.
Man: No wait, I think this is the one that flies. Yeah, this is the one that flies.
Woman: Okay.

This month, Annual Passholders can receive a special free lithograph at each park for the Year of a Million Dreams. You must have a coupon, and the coupon states that you also have to show your AP and your photo ID. At the Art of Disney store in Epcot, I was walking toward the counter as an irate woman brushed past me. She was muttering to her husband: "Photo ID! I have to have a photo ID! As if getting into the park wasn't hard enough!"

I know that the woman in the Spaceship Earth line must have been talking about having an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. And sometimes kids ask things at strange times. I am sure this woman was using the opportunity to explain things in a way a child would understand. I would have! But, still funny/strange to overhear, I'm sure!!

Whew! These are hilarious, and although I have nothing to add right now, I just had to read to make sure none of my comments from our last trip made it on here. I can be a little too sarcastic and I was hoping no one would overhear me saying things like, "I wonder when the 3 o'clock parade is?", or "Let's go ride Flyin'" and think I was actually serious. LOL.

Oh I just remembered. My husband and I were at World of Disney, and there was a family Mom, Dad and 2 daughters. Well one of the daughters was pitching a fit like you wouldn't believe! (Don't get me started on the lack of parenting skills at WDW!!) Anyway, instead of heading right back to the car, the mother kept pushing the other one in the stroller while the father carried this flailing, wailing child. The mother kept yelling back to him, "I'm taking her to see the damn squirrels, get over here!!!" I figured out she meant Chip and Dale.

Also overheard:
At AK - "I wonder if that turtle is real?" It is.
"Look a gorilla!" I heard this one for any primate, anywhere. Chimpanzee on the tree of life? No. It's a gorilla. Baboon? Nope, a Gorilla. And so on. In fact we heard this so much that my husband and I now say it for any animal at AK. LOL.

Also overheard:
At AK - "I wonder if that turtle is real?" It is.

Look! A seagull! No, it's a gorilla. Oh, a cockroach crawled under the door. Nope, that's a gorilla.

I must have been living in the dark ages, because I have just found the DIS boards and must say they are amazing! I've spent the last few days off and on reading through every page of this thread and have been so amused!

On our last trip to WDW DH and I went with the in laws. My DMIL was scared to death to ride RnR, but peer pressure got the best of her and she finally decided to ride with us. She loved it and on about our fifth trip through, we were in the staging area where Aerosmith comes on the screen and gives their little speil. My DMIL says, "man they have boring jobs," DH and I look at eachother wide eyed thinking can she really think Aerosmith is really in the room with us. We then look at DFIL in unison and he says, "yeah now you guys see what I live with every day!" The whole staging area erupted in laughter.

That was such a fun trip, we are all going back in December, where we're sure to have more blonde moments.

The funniest thing I heard was from my daughter when she was 5. we drove down and stopped at ocala at the Disney welcome center. They have a huge Mickey Mouse out in front of it and the inside is all fixed up with Disney characters and what not in case you havent been there.
Anyway, I purchased my tickets for my daughter and I and as we were walking away, I noticed my daughter crying.. I bent down to ask her what was the matter, and she said, " I thought you said Disney was big" ''where's all the rides at??'' Lol, I had fun explaining that one.

One of the funnier comments DW and I heard was while we were waiting to board the monorail at the Poly, to go to the MK.

A family was in line ahead of us (mon and dad) and had a little girl about 5 or 6 with them, they were asking her what she wanted to do, and what rides that she had seen in the brochure that she wanted to ride. She said the first thing she wanted to do was meet the "wallett mouse" When the mom asked what the "wallet mouse" was, she said: "The mouse that daddy said took his wallett" (dad looked a LITTLE embarassed)

I don't know if this is funny, or just sad. I was walking into the MK yesterday and I hear a little girl, maybe about 8 or 9 talking with her father. Judging by their accents, I'm guessing they were English. Anyway, the little girl had asked her father if she did or said something, would he think that was funny and laugh at her. "Oh, honey, I would never laugh at you!" came his reply, and I thought that was sweet, that this father was expressing how he wouldn't ever make fun of his child Then, much to my chagrin, he added "You aren't the least bit funny, don't you remember?" If he was joking, he certainly didn't look it, his expression was completely serious.

Okay true story...

I have a friend that is an AP holder for the DLR and we went to visit them and they were telling us about their upcoming plans to visit WDW for the first time and she was asking me for tips since I am an "expert." She then proceeded to say-

Friend- "Don't worry we are going for three days and we got a 2 day park hopper so that we can go to both parks."

Me- "What do you mean by both parks?"

Friend- "You know, the Disney World and the Epcot."

....My husband and I almost died laughing, but we felt bad too because they had already booked this trip and had no idea that WDW is really a WORLD with 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, PI, DTD etc. etc. And to make it worse they went for New Year's Eve and New Years Day...I have still yet to hear from her on how this went. That just shows how little advertising they do for WDW over here on the west coast...people have no idea what it is!

On our first WDW trip with our two oldest DDs in 2000. We had been at the world for about 4 days and had just parked the car and loaded on the tram to go to the entrance of the park for that day. DD (then 5) turns to DW and asks "Mom, Why do we have to ride this ride EVERY DAY?"!

Not something I heard in WDW but I was reading on another website a guy was telling people to not go to WDW but go to Epcot instead because it's a much better park. Then he went on to explain how WDW was only for children while Epcot is for adults. Then he went on to talk about how you should also visit Universal MGM studios and go on TOT.

LOL...that reminds me of one of the very few WDW negative rating/opinions over on Epinions. The guy goes on and one about stuff that just is not true at all. He said there was no such thing as a pass that allows you to visit more than 1 park. Claimed for his 2 day trip he had to buy 2 2/day 1/park passes to vist 2 parks. There is other stuff too, but his claims about tickets was completely wrong.
