I am a big chicken of ToT. I rode it once about 11 years ago and refuse to ride it again. But on our most recent trip to the World, my husband wanted to ride and I agreed to wait in line with him. I asked the first CM I met just how long I could wait in line without actually riding. He told me I could go through the library and into the boiler room. Then I should tell another CM to point me to the exit.

Well, I made it into the library, they closed the door and the movie started. I heard a woman behind me say to her companion "You better grab on to something because when this floor drops...." Her friend FREAKED OUT.

Then I get to the boiler room and ask the CM how to get out - She points me down a hall and tells me to get in an ELEVATOR!!! Are you kiddin'?

Mine wasn't in Disney, but it was on the plane to Disney. After we took off this little girl sitting behind me said "We're almost in space, dad!" Me and my DH started busting up laughing. We thought it was the cutest thing!

Yeah, that's always bothered me. If I'm scared of an elevator ride, why would I want to ride on ANOTHER elevator to escape?

For anyone who doesn't know (as if), "Dinosaur" is a rather intense ride in the Animal Kingdom Park.

We didn't realize HOW intense. My very tall kids, DS6 & DD3, who had just seen the "Dinosaur" movie (remember - the one with the lovable vegetarian character, Alidar?) wanted to go on it. They believed they would see the character.

Okay, we said. And on we went. Then: Strobe Lights. Runaway Humvee. Asteroids. Carnivores. Madness ensues.

We pry our weeping three year old from the seats at the end of the ride, and exit through the Dinosaur gift shop as she screams at every person she sees: "There's no Alidar in dere! There's no Alidar in dere! Boy was she pissed.

Amazingly, at 5, she loves the ride and wants ride it every time we go.

This just goes to prove that my mom's theory is right. My family operates off of the theory that 90% of the world is stupid. It also goes along with the quote "Those who say know nothing, those who know say nothing"

Same idea different version:
"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."-- Mark Twain :)

I had never been on ToT and never will, but I finally walked through with my family on our trip in December and asked for the chicken exit. They instructed me to get on an elevator to the area where the riders see their picture. So, that is the chicken exit. The cm on that elevator was in character and it was kind of funny. If you are afraid of elevators in general, I don't know how you get out unless you go back the way you came.

I would think there would have to be stairs somewhere for fire emergencies so If someone is really scared of elevators I think they would let you use the stairs. How would someone just wanting to walk thru know that the chicken exit was an elevator. I think they would let you use the stairs if you asked for anouther way out then the elevator. :thumbsup2

LOL!! :rotfl: Great story!

This didn't happen in WDW but is about a Disney character. My DD used to be very afraid of Grumpy--when she was 3 we were talking about the 7 dwarfs and naming them, she knew them all but when we got to Grumpy she said very urgently and nervously, "Say nothing about him! Say nothing about him!"

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. - George Carlan

Okay - I don't think I (we) previously posted this ..... if we did, it would have been a while back, so unless you have read every page, it won't really be a repeat ........ still funny .....

Last July we were at HS (MGM then) and heard a little girl running in front of her dad as he said "where are you going?!?" To which she very loudly replies "I want to go see Snow White's bush!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I swear it's true. I could NOT make that up!!!

Oh yeah ....... I totally burst out laughing when I heard it!!! The girl's dad was too busy chasing her that he didn't even notice. I was about in tears over that one! Still makes me laugh every time I think about it....

Okay, so I realize this is shameless self-promoting, but go check out my TR. I promise there are many of these moments in there.

Our family was riding the ToT and there was a little girl (about 7 years old) riding for the first time. Everyone assured her that it would be fun. Well, during the first drop, amongst all the "aaaaaaaaahhhhh"s we heard the little girl yell out "SWEET MOTHER OF PEARL!" Everyone in the "elevator" started cracking up laughing. It was just so weird to hear such an expression from such a young child. And used very appropriately, I might add.:rotfl:

That is just sooooo funny and cute!! :rotfl: My DGD5 cracked me up like that too. She saw something she wanted to eat because it looked good and I told her she couldn't know how good it was because she couldn't eat with her eyes. She looked at me and said, "But Grandma, it looks bon appetit-ish to me." I love the funny things kids come up with.
