Funniest comments you've overheard in WDW

We stayed at AKL this past September and on our 3rd or 4th day, we were at Epcot and DD5 was getting Sleeping Beauty's autograph. SB asked DD "And what kingdom are you from?" DD said "Animal Kingdom"

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't think Sleeping Beauty really knew how to respond to that one. She looked at us like she needed help!! (or that my DD was nuts!)

DH also made me really teach my DD the names of the parks this year. Last year, she called the "Apricot" and "NGO Studios". I thought it was funny, he didn't want anyone to think she was stupid.

I just got back from Disney and I heard a good one at MGM the one day...

A mom talking to child about 4yo.
"This isn't like Disney, this is a big kids park, were going to go theres nothing for you here."

:scared1: My 4yo loved MGM! Did the 4yo reply to mom, "Can we go to MK next? There's nothing for you there." :lmao:

My brother-in-law and his family recently joined us for a trip to WDW. It was the first time my six-year-old nephew and nearly four-year-old niece had been to the World. I thought my niece (who is scared of loud noises and hates things like fireworks and noisy rides as a result) had a great time but now I'm not so sure.

A couple days after the vacation was over, I got an email from my brother-in-law, who relayed to me a story about my niece. She was talking to her mom and said this:

"Momma, in Florida dreams come true, but my dreams are scary."

My brother-in-law wondered if this could be a great new ad campaign for Disney -- "Come to Disney World where dreams come true, especially the really scary ones!"

That is so cute!
I just remembered another one. A little girl and her mom were walking in MK at night by the castle. The mom was on a mission and dragging the little girl through the park. Suddenly the girl goes Mom, look at the castle! There was the show going on so the lights were off and all the mom says is, I guess they don't keep the castle lit up all night and kept walking away from the castle. It was so funny because I think the girl wanted to watch the show and the mom just sounded disgusted that they didn't have the lights on. That right there reminded me if my kids want to show me something, stop and look what it is and do it! We're there for the kids anyway!!

Umm....yah....sure, that's right, I go for the kids, uh huh. ;)

My wife overheard a little girl telling someone about the Christmas parade and was going on about everything - "... and then there were gingerbread men.... and then toy soldiers... and Santa Claus was at the end, but I wish it would have been Jesus instead!"

Which made us wonder if Jesus would be a face character or a costume hmmmmm.

I was on the bus from AKL to Epcot on Monday 12/17.....solo since DH was resting and I went to get the rental car. A family got on the bus and we chatted. The father insisted that there was a MVMCP every night this week and he was going 12/18. I told him no, MK was open late until 10PM on Monday 12/17, and there was an extra magic hour until 1PM. He insisted I was wrong and contridicted himself and then said EMH was only 1 hour. He said he was DVC and he knew what he was talking about. I smiled and then stopped talking.

Two of the BEST from my most recent trip..

1. Riding the launch from MK to GF and then Poly .. a little girl about 9 was behind me with her parents. She was STARING out into the water for the longest time. It was a nice warm sunshine-y day and finally she says

"I want to swim in that."

Apparently I visibly choked from where I was sitting cause as I turned around both parents were laughing with me as I turned to her and said "Oh NO YOU DON'T!" -- Her mom agreed when I explained it wasn't a self-refreshing waterway. It was stale an stagnated. Also, there are probably some gators in there.

2. While riding the monorail a teenaged boy asked his dad, "Are there any monorails anywhere OTHER than Disney?" And both parents firmly responded with "Oh no. Just here at Disney". I didn't have the heart to tell them that the old Disney monorails are actually make runs around the Bally resort area in Las Vegas.

Anyways.. There ya go.

Nothing fancy this trip...just the usual...

Ozzy Osbourne did MGM's Osbourne lights,

and we just did Disney World (leaving MK), we'll go to Epcot tomorrow.

This past trip my FiL must have talked to three different CMs about the Osbourne lights, and I'm pretty sure two of them said it had nothing to do with Ozzy - and my FiL didn't even mention him.

And to some old timers, WDW _is_ the Magic Kingdom, since that's all there was to start.

It really throws them for a loop when you tell them that EPCOT was really ALL of WDW, and that the park was just EPCOT Center...

She's a few decades too late. Back in the day when MK = "Disney" ;) (1975) I stayed at the Contemporary and we would go swimming in Seven Seas Lagoon. I had never swam in a lake, only the ocean, and I remember how slippery the water felt :scared: and the bottom was not loose sand, but something clay-ish and slippery too. Very strange, but how fun!

I was on the line to Honey I Shrunk the Audience and two little old ladies were having a pretty heated argument. They looked like they were in their late 70s early 80s.

One of the ladies turned around to the other and really loud said "Shut your Pie Hole". LMAO. I have never heard that expression before, but coming from a litte white haired old lady made it even funnier.

We were on the Magical Express this trip and a family was discussing that they were going to Chef Mickey's. The woman was telling her family all the characters that would be there. She said "The chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and I forget the other one". :lmao:

:rotfl: My special effects makeup teacher in college made that! I believe he's also responsible for Mooby from the same film. He modeled that statue after himself, it really does look like his face :rotfl:

I had to share this one with you. It's not so much funny, but terribly cute.

I just returned from having Thanksgiving Dinner lunch with DD at her school. All the children had made special Thanksgiving placemats, and hers read:

I am thankful for the people who made Splash Mountain and for my family.

:)

Ah, Obi-Wan, you have done well with your little Skywalker :darth: .

agnes!
