Tell me about he gift card sale? What company do you go thru?

Our schools use Great Lakes Scrip: https://www.shopwithscrip.com/. It isn't a one-time fundraiser, it is an ongoing program that lets students earn year-round and the way our schools do it is to split the proceeds between the student account and the organization fund 70/30%. So for my son, 70% of the profit on the gift cards we buy (which varies from retailer to retailer, from a low of 2% from Disney to as much as 10% from some local businesses) goes into his band account to offset our costs for band camp, trips, etc. The other 30% goes to the band boosters for their projects. And our girls' private school does the same thing to help families offset tuition costs.

We did a scout fundraiser where we had a bunch of dads shoot mistletoe out of trees. We met up and tied Christmas ribbon around a piece and sold it for donations at a parade and in front of Lowes. We put about 10 bucks in the fundraiser and made $800. The boys had a ball selling it.
