Kind of bored this afternoon and playing around. We made our own "Mickey Bokeh." :wizard:

OK I'm definitely trying this with my wife's Cricut paper cutter when I get home!

Great job Jeff!! Love the effect and little L looks beautiful. I will have to show this to Jenny. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Very cool, Jeff. I think I speak for the community when I say that we love it when you get "bored" and introduce us to some new idea or technique.

Well done, sir!

I couldn't cut out a "neat" looking mickey head with my big bulky scissors.

So, I went with a star. This one was best, I think.. Not as many lights.. but, distinct shape.

It was quite a fun thing to do this afternoon! I think I can perfect it.

Ok, I tried. Can't get it to work. I don't think either of my lenses have a small enough f-stop. Wah! Very disappointed.

I gave this a shot using my wife's Cricut paper cutter...

...but I wanted to see if I could improve the bokeh shape near the edges, so I cut out a 1 1/4" circle with a 1/2" Mickey head in the middle, and carefully taped it to the edges of my 50/1.4's inner element. (I tried on Sigma 30/1.4 first but it doesn't have a lip around the inner element to tape to)

This gives much more even bokeh shape.

Code beat me to it. If your wife has a cricut it is a snap to make the design. I may get my DW to try different Disney shapes and see what happens!
