Fun way to make a CM's day

Saw this on another site: A family decided to make CM's feel great and say thanks for making magic. They carried a special autograph book and had CM's sign it. They took photos with the CM's. Many of the CM's in the video had tears in their eyes. Very special! Something to do when the character lines get way too long... try to find a CM from each attraction, different costumes etc.... have fun!

another great way to show appreciation for the CM's. When you are out and about in the parks, keep a small notebook and pen in your pocket. Any time you see a CM doing something special, whether its giving extra information about a ride or attraction, dealing with an unpleasant situation with a smile and grace or just something as random as stopping for a chat with a child and making the child smile.

Write down the CM's name, the location this happened and the time. At the end of the day, go to Town Hall and say you want to do a CM appreciation card. You then give the basic details of who the CM was and what happened. You will also have to leave your name and where you are from, just a state , area or country, not your full postal address.

The card will then go to the department the CM works in and they will get a special reward card from their manager and it will get listed on their employee record.

I did this last year and will continue on future trips. At Town Hall they were very happy that I wanted to do an appreciation card as they mostly deal with guests complaining about CM's

Another easy way to make cast members smile is as easy as saying "have a magical day" you will sometimes hear cast members say this to guests, but guests rarely say it to cast members. Some are taken aback for a second, but I usually get a big smile.

We have done pictures with the CMs before - DD (homeschooled) had a challenge to find a CM from each state and from at least 20 different countries. We had a great time meeting CMs from different places - she got a photograph with each.

I tend to e-mail in compliments at the end of each day - to me it's easier to type it out than to fill in a little compliment card just IMO

I just threw another autograph book into my suitcase. I love the idea.
I do randomly take pictures, but I like the idea of asking for their autographs.

I always make a point of saying thank you to the CM's who are in any position of "cleaning" I let them know that the hard work they're doing lets me enjoy my holiday that much more. Rarely do they get noticed and their job truly is a thankless one. I've found it will bring the older CM's stuck cleaning up after us in the bathrooms to tears. Always tell them that I've "been there, done that" and it creates an instant bond of solidarity. Had an amazing chat with a young girl in MK last week who was humming as she was cleaning up an awful mess a family had left behind at 2 tables close to the Launching Pad (think that's what it's called??)
