Ok we have been twice but not in years but my sister, her DH and DS will be going early July for their first time ever! DS is peanut allergy and T1. What I am looking for are suggestions - all those fun little tricks/freebies/bonuses to pass on. I worry I may have forgotten the best stuff, or it may have changed - buttons for his first visit? Do they still do the fun cut at the barber shop on Main Street for a great price?

Any help you can give me to make their trip that much more special is really appreciated.

TIA and I will post on Disney Family area too.

Depending on how old the child is, someone should secretly bring a white golf ball on Soaring and sit next to the child. When the ride starts discretely take it out of your pocket and palm the ball. When the golfer hits the ball pretend to catch it and show the child the ball.

My 5 year old Nephew bought in to that trick and was completely blown away by it. :lmao: On the way out we made a show of talking about how the right thing to do would be to return the ball to the CM's. We had him go up and ask if he had to return the ball (which he desperately wanted to keep) and with out missing a beat the CM said if he caught it he got to keep it!

The next year Nephew was going to try to catch the ball but Pop Pop caught it.

Mwa ha ha....

I've heard of people bringing a "gemstone" or "ruby" to do this with Philharmagic also. I packed around a golfball and several crafting gems the whole trip. She got scared and backed out of Soarin', and I had to leave Philharmagic because it was too loud for the baby. I forgot to give the gems to DH. LOL Maybe next time.

Sign them up for a Fairy Godmailer.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2440121

Someone going to WDW before them will send a postcard, from their favorite character if you specify, anticipating their arrival. You, then, sign up to do the same thing for someone going after you.

But the best thing you can do for a first timer is to offer your expertise. Let them know about ADRs-- their 90 day date was in February, so if they haven't made any, they'll want to get right on it.

And explain about FP+ and help them make their choices. (We're going on July 29, and our FP+ date is May 30, just to give you a frame of reference.) Help them make the choices that will lessen the time they spend on line and will enable them to see the stuff they'll want to see. That's probably the biggest favor you can do them.

Treat them to 2 Mistymate personal misters http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2440121 They'll thank you! And remind them to stock up on disposable ponchos-- summer and rain pretty much go together in Orlando.

Tell them to order a case of water (or more, depending on the length of their stay. We do 2 cases for a week for our family of 5.) We also order park snacks and breakfast stuff from www.gardengrocer.com

I have to do this! I have a 5 yr old daughter who would buy into it! Good thing to do while she still believes in the magic.

Thank you everyone for your input so far....Loving the ideas.

I should have been more specific. What I am looking for are those little tricks to get some freebies or bonuses more than the hot weather tips etc. How they can take advantage of the low cost items that will make the trip extra special. I am sure they will do the souveniers and all that too (you HAVE TO!) but any little add ons would be greatly appreciated.
