Fun thread for the ladies - Makeup????

I always do all my make up the same as when I'm not on vacation. With all the pictures that we take of each other I'd rather not show them to friends and family and hang my head in shame b/c of how bad I looked without my "face" lol

I don't wear any make up at DisneyWorld. At home I will wear it on occasion but not a lot at home either !

I wouldn't wear any makeup either if it wasn't my BE. It has a sunscreen in it and beats having goopy sunscreen making my face greasy.

To tame frizzy hair, I have naturally curly hair so I know the tendency to frizz in humidity, I use the John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum. I use the extra strength, putting it in before i dry my hair, while it is still wet. Then when it is dry? I put in Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. This stuff is AWESOME. Just a little will do and it smells so great. Put some in your hands, put it through your hair before you head to the parks, then do it again if u go back to your room during the day.
As for makeup? I just do waterproof mascara, a little liner, lipstick and Clinique Citybase foundation with SPF, stays on all day. If liner or lipstick comes off? Oh well, I reapply before dinner. I'm not too worried about makeup on vacation, but do make sure my curls are tamed!

What I wear for makeup at WDW is pretty much what I wear when I'm home :)
Just a little eye shadow, light eye liner & mascara... that is all

oh yes, and I am a curly haired girl :) I usually don't put anything in I let the frizz take control BUT if I do indeed put something in I use bed head 'cat walk' defines the curls and eliminates frizz.

I wear Bare Essentials. Since the makeup is minerals, it is so light (you feel like nothing is on your face) and it covers just as well as a liquid. Even when its hot, it doesn't sweat off you.

I love Bare Essentials. I too was about to post about it until I saw yours. I always wear makeup (I'm a junky) and this is the best product I have ever used.

After readong this forum I feel like trying BE (the only face makeup I use now is a loose powder and I won't even wear that in the summer bc it is just too hot)

I'd say if you feel like you have to wear makeup at wdw to feel comfortable just use a tinted moisturizer with spf. I also really like the suggestion of bringing some face cloths to wipe down your face in the parks. I will definitely do that next time.

As for frizzy hair frizz-eaze works great! Even if I am just going to do a ponytail I like to use it. I saw a frizz-eaz hair serum that I assume works like one of those professional treatments at CVS the other day. It takes about an hour for the entire application process and then it is suppose to cure you frizzy hair for up to 3 months. I am going to try it out this weekend and hopefully I'll get som result. Has anyone else tried it?

We will be in WDW this August. I have always made the effort with makeup to look nice on vacation.
(no beauty here just makes the best of what she has :lmao: )
but we have always gone in less humid/hotter times so the makeup stayed on for the most part. December was the best because my hair was down & it wasn't frizzy! :thumbsup2

Anyway this will be the first time in the summer & I was wondering if it would even be worth it trying to put makeup on & then having it all melt off as the day goes on?

Who wears makeup in the summer? I can't see being in alot of pictures this time anyway cause my hair will look crazy anyway. Luckily, my kids have my DH's hair!!

I wear makeup to check the mail lol. It is such a southern thing. When I lived in Montana I hardly ever wore anything other than chapstick, coverstick and mascara. I think I put more on here because I know it is going to melt off some. I live in the south now and it is so humid during the summer (well, and all year round). I swear by Clinique Almost Makeup for the summer (it is waterproof, sweatproof, and has sunblock) and I use Bobby Brown powder over it to set it. I use benetint for lips and cheeks because it stays put. Lancome waterproof hynose mascara and Lancome waterproof eyeliner.
Also, if none of the above, at the very least ALWAYS ALWAYS have blotting papers when you are in the humid weather. They are so portable (fit right in your pocket) and take the shine away and freshen any makeup you have on instanly. I swear by them.
As far as hair goes, it is just hopeless down here. I have straight hair and during the summer it is flat against my head sometimes. I used to wear it super spikey short and that was about the only way it didn't look awful around here!

I've never worn makeup (except for theatre and we won't go into that!). I grew up in a family of all girls and they tried very hard to make me dress and act like a girl. I've even hated wearing dresses for as long as I can remember. I swore that my wedding day would be the last time. Which by the way, my mother looked at me and said, "You have to wear makeup on your wedding day!!" To which I proptly responded, "No Thanks Mom, I'd rather get married as myself rather than the painted up version of me!"

No offense to (the majority) those who wear makeup, I just have never really seen the point! Either I'm ugly or I'm pretty, no sense in trying to look different!

Just think, I can get ready in about 15 minutes each morning and that includes shower, dressing, and tying my shoes! The way I see it, that is just more time availble for sleeping late in the morning or getting to the parks just a little bit earlier!!

Going without makeup for me is like going without undies. Other people probably wouldn't notice so much but I'd sure feel uncomfortable all day! :)

WOW! I can't imagine packing my makeup bag to go to Disney World! :confused3 Maybe I would put something on for a nice late dinner.

One year in EPCOT I saw a woman in a complete outfit (like she was going to a dinner theater) with nice shoes, and complete hair do. I was sooooo confused. I can't see getting all done up to stand on line for hours, and scream my head off all day. (Does this mean I lose my "womanhood" badge now?)

We usually go in the warmer months and I just don't bother with make-up. The only thing I wear is blistex lip tone, which has spf and a hint of color. It makes me feel good and it keeps my lips from burning. Other than that, I just slather on sunscreen and forget about it. Sometimes in the evenings when we go out for dinner, I put on a little make-up to look and feel nice. I leave the lipstick at home and just stick with the blistex lip tone. I love that stuff. I do wash my hair every day - that makes me feel good. Even though it gets messed up with the humidity and the wet rides like Splash Mountain.

OMG, that was probably me! Well with the exception of the outfit, I normally just wear a cute top (I'm not a T-shirt gal), shorts and sandals.

I wear full make up everyday at the parks even in the summertime - never had a problem. I use a long-wearing foundation and do touch-ups during the day. Before we go on our trip I get a couple of those small sample-size bottles from the make-up counter at the mall and fill it with foundation to take to the park for touch-ups. Much more portable and that way if I lose it I don't lose my entire supply of foundation. I also take Powder and a brush and of course lipstick. I use eyeshadow base so my eyemakeup stays fresh all day.

I do have hair strategies as well but I'm pretty sure it's more than anyone would be interested in. It sounds like a lot of trouble but I do this on a daily basis, so I've got a routine down and it takes me no more than an hour to get ready in the mornings and then just a few minutes of touch up during the day.

Bare Escentuals here too! Love it! Tinted chapstick also.

Once I showed up sick at work without any makeup on and when my boss showed up and saw me he literally jumped backwards, LOL! :rotfl2:
