Fun thread for the ladies - Makeup????

Bare Essentials user here!
Like others - it has the spf in it - and for me I have "spots" red and brown, and Bare Minerals covers like no other - and I"m telling you I even tried that dermaBlend because the brown patch on my face was so embarrassing!! It didnt cover it - but talk about pancake feel to makeup!! BE did the trick - I love the minerals, but when its hot, you sweat, so blotting you do have to do!! I've been in summer, and when I come back to the resort and wash, I still have color come on the washcloth - so that says I'm covered even when I sweat like no other!!

:thumbsup2

I get mine at the Ulta stores - the kit is a reasonable price - you can also get it at Sephora, and of course QVC when they offer it on tv they always have deals!! It lasts great -

for lipstick tho I do use the color stay by revlon - its like a "stain stick" never comes off, and I dont have to reapply !! :Pinkbounc

I do wear make up at Disney, just less of it! I usually put on a little Origins foundation, a touch of pressed power, light eyeliner and mascara. I skip the blush and I buy waterproof mascara for WDW...since I always wind up teary- eyed over something! :rotfl:

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a long lasting eyeliner? Avon used to have the BEST one, it stayed on all day, but they discontinued it! :guilty:
I was so upset. I've tried MANY different ones since, from Lancome to Wet & Wild, but nothing seems to stay on/last as long as the Avon one...whether I'm at WDW or not!

I wear Mac tinted moisturiser. It's got good spf protection, is very light and stays put. It will even out your skin tone but isn't heavy like a foundation. Sun screen is essential and this is a good way to get it and enhance my appearane a little bit.

The sunscreen we use makes my face very shiny so I always wear a light foundation over it to stop that happening. If we'll be going somewhere nice for dinner or out for the evening I'll also put on a pale lipstick and maybe a quick stroke of a natural colour eyeshadow. Generally we're running out of the door in the morning so I only have about 2 minutes to do hair/makeup. Hair just has mousse smoothed into it after I've showered (to stop it frizzing in the tropical air) and a sunhat shoved on it! I always have to wear a hat anyway as I'm sensetive to the sun.

The only makeup I wear is mascara and that is only so I won't be mistaken for one of the ghosts from HM.

I try to wear as little as possible. I always slather on the sunscreen on my face. If I know I will be taking pics, I will put a little makeup on though. I will put a bit of powder on and blush. But those also have spf in it. Not a lot though, just enough to make me look alive. I dont leave my room without my eyebrows on! I also wear tinted lip balm with spf in it. I refuse to wear anything that will melt, run, smear or cake.

I wear Bare Essentials. Since the makeup is minerals, it is so light (you feel like nothing is on your face) and it covers just as well as a liquid. Even when its hot, it doesn't sweat off you.

Another Bare Essentials gal. Love the stuff.

I did not wear much last September as you can tell by the HOT pic of me below!!! :lmao: YUCK!! My hair was terrible but that day we had been up since 4am and went to the MK til 12 pm!!!! I wore a ball cap most days but when I look at the pics, I think I look awful so this year I will wear my hair in some form of style with some makeup at least~~!! I try not to worry about it too much but I want to look good in our pics! I use Clinique products BTW and I am more than anxious to try my WONDERFUL CHI on our vacation this year...my hair in Fl summer weather, a true test for any machine!! :lmao:

When it comes to WDW, especially in the hotter months, I usually just go with my SPF 15 moisturizer, some concealer, powder and maybe mascara. I feel naked without the concealer and the powder helps keep things from becoming too shiny. Those make-up remover wipes are a must since it takes off all the gunk that accumulates on your face after a day in the parks. My sis and I even took a mini sponge bath with them in the CR concourse bathroom during our afternoon break. They felt refreshing and we smelled clean and fresh! Not to worry, no clothes were shed in the process! ;)

What about at the water parks? Anyone got any suggestions there?

And my hair has a tendancy to frizz in heat....I have straightners but I'm not sure they'll work in the USA cause of the voltage difference. Anyone got any tips on what to buy from the UK?

The makeup I use doesn't "melt away" in the heat. In the summer, I wear tinted moisturizer with SPF 20, mascara, lip gloss and when in WDW, I splash on some glitter so I feel extra magical!

As for my hair, it stayed pretty tame last April. It wasn't humid. But the water in the showers in Florida made my hair feel weird, and was harder to style for some reason.

Another BE gal here. Just dust some on, add some mineral veil, and some lip gloss and I'm out the door.

Oh BTW, BE users, you do know it's Bare Escentuals, not Essentials don't you? :)

I never wear makeup at WDW. I'll never see those people again, and 90% of the time, I'm the photographer, so I'm not in the pictures. If I am, it's usually far enough away that you really don't see me that well.

Of course, I don't wear makeup on the weekends at home, so it doesn't bother me to be seen without makeup.

When I'm at WDW and it's hot out I'll usually use oil-free sunblock as my moisturizer and skip the concealer and foundation (maybe a little concealer under my eyes) and then I'll put on some waterproof mascara, which is a MUST for the water rides and when I start to sweat. The BEST waterproof mascara I've tried is called Hypnose and it's made by Lancome. It makes your lashes look long and full and doesn't smear at all. I highly recommend it.

As for my hair, it's so frizzy/wavy that even if I bother to straighten it during the day the humidity will screw it up within an hour and I just wind up tossing it into a pony tail!

I've never worn makeup (except for theatre and we won't go into that!). I grew up in a family of all girls and they tried very hard to make me dress and act like a girl. I've even hated wearing dresses for as long as I can remember. I swore that my wedding day would be the last time. Which by the way, my mother looked at me and said, "You have to wear makeup on your wedding day!!" To which I proptly responded, "No Thanks Mom, I'd rather get married as myself rather than the painted up version of me!"

No offense to (the majority) those who wear makeup, I just have never really seen the point! Either I'm ugly or I'm pretty, no sense in trying to look different!

Just think, I can get ready in about 15 minutes each morning and that includes shower, dressing, and tying my shoes! The way I see it, that is just more time availble for sleeping late in the morning or getting to the parks just a little bit earlier!!

We will be in WDW this August. I have always made the effort with makeup to look nice on vacation.
(no beauty here just makes the best of what she has :lmao: )
but we have always gone in less humid/hotter times so the makeup stayed on for the most part. December was the best because my hair was down & it wasn't frizzy! :thumbsup2

Anyway this will be the first time in the summer & I was wondering if it would even be worth it trying to put makeup on & then having it all melt off as the day goes on?

Who wears makeup in the summer? I can't see being in alot of pictures this time anyway cause my hair will look crazy anyway. Luckily, my kids have my DH's hair!!
I have gone make up free the past few years at any theme park I go to. It is very freeing! :teeth: No more worrying about make up running after being on a water ride etc. Our last trip to WDW, we took 4 to 5 rolls of film. How many pictures was I in? ONE! Yes, that right! Just one picture!

I am just planning on wearing mascara, lip gloss and sunscreen! That's it for me. I will just wear my hair in a poytail. My hair also frizzes so I will just put gel on it after I wash it to at least keep it looking curly but decent!

I just put some eye makeup and a little something for my lips, no foundation or blush.

i use physicians formula bronzer and chapstick and sunglasses. i am curious about the kiss me mascara(i think that is the name) from previous poster it sounds amazing. who makes it, and where do i buy it?
