We will be in WDW this August. I have always made the effort with makeup to look nice on vacation.
(no beauty here just makes the best of what she has :lmao: )
but we have always gone in less humid/hotter times so the makeup stayed on for the most part. December was the best because my hair was down & it wasn't frizzy! :thumbsup2

Anyway this will be the first time in the summer & I was wondering if it would even be worth it trying to put makeup on & then having it all melt off as the day goes on?

Who wears makeup in the summer? I can't see being in alot of pictures this time anyway cause my hair will look crazy anyway. Luckily, my kids have my DH's hair!!

I never wear make up to the parks it is just too hot. Now I might have some in my travel purse that I freshen up with before dinner.

Well I normally wear makeup when we go in September. I like taking our photos in the early morning that way at least we have some when it gets too hot for it. I use clinique all day wear work out makeup when in the park and it doesnt budge. Its made for getting sweaty . You can try that. After a few days into vacation I normally give up on the makeup during the day and only wear it at night!

Having been at WDW in late June and one very hot September, I can tell you I DO NOT wear any foundation when it's that hot and humid! If you have skin that is prone to breakouts, I wouldn't make it worse in the humid weather by putting makeup on. I end up carrying Oil of Olay facial cloths in my bag to use once or twice throughout the day. Helps to keep my face clean from perspiring and feels cooling when used with cold water. I will, however, put some liner and mascara on every day.

In the summer or hotter weather I will wear eyeliner, mascara etc but NO foundation - I will however apply a moisturizer(sp?) with SPF protection in it before putting on my eye make up etc :)

I wear Bare Essentials. Since the makeup is minerals, it is so light (you feel like nothing is on your face) and it covers just as well as a liquid. Even when its hot, it doesn't sweat off you.

I have regular skin type and I always wear make-up. I just use regular old Revlon foundation and I don't remember have any trouble with my make-up melting off. Of course, it doesn't look fresh by the end of the day, but it was still there. I wouldn't wear it if I could get by with it (mainly just due to being lazy while on vacation), but I can't stand to look back at photos of myself where I look like the walking dead, so I put it on at WDW like any other day!! My hair though - that is another story!!

I never wear make-up at WDW. However, I don't wear make-up at home either. I hate that women feel like they have to wear make-up to look good/better.

One of my favorite topics

I have oilier skin which is sensitive and prone to break out. I do not use foundation but instead use Murad oil free sunscreen. It is tinted and gives a nice tone to your skin. It's oil free so it has longer staying power and you will not break out. It's great for all skin types and skin colors...I have been using it for years...never sunburn and no WRINKLES!!! The best best best mascara is Kiss Me Mascara. It is not your typical waterproof mascara, you can swim sweat go all day and it will come off very easily with cleanser or soap and water. It comes off in little tubes. It is fabulous. For lip and cheek color, Philosopy makes a lip and cheek stain that is so natural...it comes in a few different hues. They are not deep and dark, but natural berry shades that match the natural tone of you cheeks and lips, they are oil free so they go on clear and will not fade or smudge or streak and blend easily. It is also in also lip gloss tue so you can take it with you. Top off lips with spf chap stick and you are good to go. I also use Proactive face cloths during the day. There is no medication and will not dry out your skin but will remove sweat and dirt without stripping your skin. I pack 6 or so in a sandwich bag and pack it in my small bag. The plastic bag keps them moist and I use it to freshen up every 3 hours. I fill a tiny plastic bottle (just ask for one at any make up counter...they are small bottles used to give samples) with Murad sunscreen so after I wipe everything off (except mascara) put fresh sunscreen on. So all I take to the parks is a small sandwich bag with wipes folded small, the small tube of lipstain, chap stick and the small sample tube of sunscreen...all of which fit in the palm of your hand. Not only will you look good but it takes nothing to look good all day and feel refreshed.

I try and take pics in the am before we're all hot. Unless it's one of those Kodak moments that you just have to have a pic of.
I wear Good Sense for sensitive skin (Kohls, all stuff that's good for skin) foundation with spf 15 during the summer. Lipstick with spf 15 and I'm good to go.
The hair well that's another matter  a hat helps hide it princess:

I use this stuff too! It always looks great the one complaint i have is that it comes off on napkins and stuff when wiping food of your mouth or dabbing your nose or such...other than that I LOVE this product it does what it says covers as well as a liquid foundation/ concealer but is light as air..the other downsidie..ITS EXPENSIVE!

We were there in August. I wore lipstick with sunscreen in it, and that's it for make up.

I usually do not wear much makeup at Disney. Just some lip gloss to keep my lips moist and little mascara because i curl my eyelashes. Other than that, i leave all the other stuff at home.

i slather on sunscreen and like to wash my face every so often if it's hot so no foundation but do use mascara so i can get that "raccoon eyes" look from water rides and if my eyes water ( sniff sniff) during any sappy times.. i have a tendency to tan easily so usually i have more color in my face after a few days even with sun screen than when i wear my "normal" winter foundation. i use burt's bees lip gloss with tint in it so that's about it for that area. if we are going to a resort to eat i might stick mascara in my pocket to reapply before dinner., depends on just how light i feel like traveling that day :rotfl2:

I NEVER go anywhere without my make-up - even hot & humid WDW!! At least I start the day at least looking good ;) , then try to get back to the room in the afternoon to freshen up before dinner.

Can't do without Bare Essentials foundation with spf (so light & airy!) & bronzer, lipstick (carry with me to park), and eyeliner/mascara. Simple routine that works for me to get me through the summer months :)

I am extremely fair skinned, AND my skin is oily. Not a pleasant combination! I do have the Clinique work-out makeup that I really like, but I don't think I will like it in August. I know my face will be sweaty, and I know if I wipe it I will have to put sunscreen on again. Putting foundation in there would be a huge, oily, sticky mess. Clinique has some nice SPF 40 tinted face lotion so I think I will probably go with that, mascara, and some sort of lip balm with a high SPF. And a hat to keep my scalp from burning. It won't be pretty, but I will just avoid the mirror! ;)

i'm a bare essentials gal too, nice coverage & built in spf...plus this makeup is so simple to use i can put in on without a mirror :thumbsup2

Oil of Olay cloths during the day? Awesome tip! :thumbsup2

I use sun screen with tint and mascara. Lip balm with sun screen too ans some tint. Otherwise, nothing.

I always wear makeup except when I am in Disney during the summer months. Last Aug I went and only wore eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara during the day if that. Not to be gross but I sweat a lot on my face especially around my eyebrows so it is not even worth it to me. I do wear SPF and a visor to protect my face from burning. Now if we go back to the room and shower and then for to dinner I will put on make up but even then it can be very hot out.

I would rather have no foundation on than have half of my face with foundation and half without after the make up had melted off...that is just how I feel. Just remember Aug is one of the hottest and most humid months at Disney.
