Great update. Looks like a fantastic safari! As far as the lions, they don't seem to do much, do they? I know I've seen them sitting up too, but I can't remember seeing them do much more than that at AK.

The shirt is pretty cool. I really like the retro logos.

The safari is one of my favorites.

Since you tuned in to my PTR, I had to make my way over and read yours! Love all the photos!

I still don't see the bear in the WL facade though.....guess my imagination isn't turned on right now?

Aww, that stinks! I know the first couple times we went on the safari we'd see an animal or two but lately we've had some really good ones. Hopefully your luck will change!

Anyways, I am glad you posted the cheat sheet because I couldn't figure it out haha!

And actually I HAVE seen the lions move...I gotta find the picture because the male was standing up on the end of the rock and his mane was blowing in the wind and then the female walked up behind him and they nuzzled each other. It was UNREAL! I actually thought for a second maybe these animals are fake and I am the idiot who thought they were real this whole time, but nope!

I LOVE THAT MK SHIRT!!! I got a retro one when I was there but I definitely like the colors on yours better and mine doesn't have Mickey!

Also thanks for the BW pics at Christmas!!

A little behind...... But,I'm all caught up now.

Wow!! You got some great Safari pics!! I try...but either we're moving way too fast or I'm always on the opposite side of the animals.

No, sadly it won't be to see Marquette (I do have a friend who is going and I am SOOO jealous about that)--the tournament is over Thanksgiving and is just too expensive but hey, we are going again and I really can't complain! I'll have to start a new PTR soon since we're getting close to the end of this one! Oh, and speaking of doing things again...guess who is coming here in November? David Cook! My sister's going to go see him again.

I know, I'm always surprised when some of them manage to turn out. I guess it helps if you're closer to the front of the truck?!

I think the hippo's are fake, like in the Jungle Cruise. They are such a dangerous animal, and no one ever see's them out of the water. At the Milwaukee Co. Zoo', they are never in the water.

We are going to the corn maze this weekend.
I don't know which day, hopefully Saturday afternoon.
You and your family should join us.
In the morning, Matt planned go-karting.
It's actual real go-karts that are used in professional racing.
Matt's girlfriend is a professional go-kart racing-go figure.
If it is a nice day, I am going to suggest to do that afterwards, -go to the corn maze, by Lodi, WI. Otherwise we will for sure do it on Sunday.

Here is a picture from the safari ride when I went with my family in 2007... Hippo is mostly out of the water!!!

As for the rest of the TR. Sounds like it was an awesome trip! I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures! And it is pretty cool that you have been able to go to so many resorts! I'd love to be able to do that!

great update!!!

You will see TONS more animals in the AM for safari than u will in the afternoon, esp in the summer. All the animals go inside at night and are let out in the morning before the park opens so that is why a lot of times you will see the lions walking around. I still haven't seen that darn cheetah but they I think he is gone lol.

If you want to know some behind the scenes secrets of safari let me know. I took a sep tour of safari during my AK training. We rode the ride as normal and then rode it with a safari manager. Now one of my friends that I interned with is an elephant keeper at AK..it's pretty cool the stuff she says too!!

That is the first time, I have ever seen a Rhino out of the water. Believe me, I have read plenty of TR's and Never, ever, have I seen a hippo out of the water. Thanks for setting me straight.

When I go to AK on Nov 1st, we're def doing the Safari first thing after rope drop! I dont think I've ever done it in the early morning, and seeing as how I love animals you'd think I'd be smart enough to go there first. But now that EE isn't new to me, I'm saving that for after the Safari so I can see a moving Lion and Hippo out of the water! ....Maybe!

You know, as soon as I read that I could've sworn I saw one out of the water once but then I wasn't so sure. I started going through all my Disney pictures to see if I had one! LOL. But even the one at the zoo is in the water more often than not.

That sounds fun. While I was subbing last week the class went to a pumpkin farm and there was a little corn maze there. We couldn't find our way through, but then again we were a little preoccupied with not losing any kids!

We did have a great time as usual. I love getting to stay at all the different resorts...thank goodness DVC makes it so easy!

I think we might've seen the cheetah on our safari but it was waaaaay far back that it kind of blended in with everything.
