Well, just checked the weather and it looks like we might have a rainy trip....so ponchos for us.

I wondered if they sell "fun ponchos" or if the WDW ponchos are generally just boring and plain. Do they sell ponchos with mouse ears on the hood or anything?

We are adults only so not interested in the kid sized stuff.

TIA!

I have only seen one design for adult ponchos at WDW. Not fun, but functional :)

ETA: No mouse ears on them, but that's a really cute idea.

The only ponchos we have ever gotten were just plain. One year they were yellow but most times they are clear. They just have a Mickey on the back. Nothing fancy. You may be able to find some cute ones somewhere in the World but we just buy the plain ones.

By the way, if you do decide to just buy the plain ones, I would suggest you bring along a large Sharpie marker and write your last name on the back of the poncho.....like you see on sports jerseys. This helps you keep up with your party when you are looking at a sea of the same style ponchos.

No fun ponchos?? I'm surprised-I figured WDW would sell some fun ones.

Oh well, good idea about the sharpie-I'm gonna take our boring clear ones and decorate them myself!

Just took a peak on Ebay-theres lots of fun ones for kids. I know I sound silly, but I wish they'd make fun ones for adults. I'd pay a few extra bucks for a pooh bear or snow white poncho!!

All Disney ponchos are the same - clear plastic with Mickey on the back. They used to sell yellow ones but discontinued those when it was pointed out that once it started to rain and everyone put on the yellow ponchos, you couldn't tell the members of your party from anyone else. So they went to the clear ones so you can see the clothing underneath.

When we wear our yellow Disney ponchos, we're often asked where people can get those!

Lately the ponchos have been clear with the year of a million dreams castle logo on them.

HOw much are the ponchos in the parks? I wasn't sure if I should buy them ahead of time or if we should just buy them in the parks if it starts to rain. I don't want to pay $20 a poncho for each of us :lol

I usually buy a bunch of the cheapie dollar store ponchos. That way I can just throw them away after the storm. I hate having to deal with the wet poncho the rest of the day. They usually wind up getting stinky or making a mess.

They aren't $20. In fact, they are reasonably priced for the quality of the ponchos. I think $7.95? I know they are definitely less than $10. If you need adult ponchos, I'd buy those before you go. If you need them you have them (because EVERYONE runs to buy a poncho when it starts to rain). If you don't ned them, take them home. They aren't going to go bad. Kids will grow out of theirs.

IMO, they are not worth even the $8. I bring the $1 Target ones.

I can't vouch for the newer clear ones but we still have our yellow ones from 8 years ago. We bring them on every trip and they are still holding up fine. I'd say we got our $8 worth by now.

I think I'm going to have to dig out the 'retro' yellow poncho's for our trip in April, although I've got my fingers crossed that I won't even need them ;)
