I am taking my DS (12 yrs) to WDW in Feb. I have my ADR's already, but after reading this I may want to make some changes:idea:
I would like some really fun places to make the trip super fun.
We do have a res. for Chef Mickey's but now I am wondering about Whispering Canyon. Are there other places that have 'antics' ? I would much rather have fun than go to a counter place.
Any suggestions would be appreciated:thumbsup2

I consider the Sci Fi Drive In Theater in MGM alot of fun. No characters but it is set up like an old drive in and you sit in replicas of old cars--50s style. We love it there. I've read mixed reviews on this board about the food there but we always found it to be good--burgers, fries, shakes things like that.

:goodvibes My 12 year old DS LOVED:love: LOVED  LOVED:love: Canyon- They kid sooo much with the kids from tons of ketsup to mini tiny cups with 3 foot straws to throwing napkins at the kids when they ask for them. The food was yummy too!:thumbsup2 We are going back in 10 days and he cant wait!:woohoo:
Ohanas was alot of fun too and the Sci fi was also a good time the food was good too. He also loved the Coral Reef he thought that was relly cool.
Cheif Mickey is also a Fav.
Lots of choices but I think Whispering Canyon steals the show!
Have a great trip!:goodvibes

Whispering Canyon for sure, and 50s prime time, especially if you have a "mom", "uncle" or "cousin" that really get into it. Sci-fi is ok, I like the atmosphere, but the food is so-so.

'ohana? Chef Mickey's?

Ok, talked to the 11+ year old in my life and he says keep Chef Mickeys. It was his favorite restaurant during our trip in Ausgust.

And he said he like Whispering Canyon becuase they made fun of his Dad. (you can see where his priorities lie)

Strangely I recommend Boma. Odd choice I know, but the hotel makes up for it. The cast members at teh Animal Kingdom lodge go out of their way to talk to the kids and tell them about Africa. Also before and/or after dinner you can go out to see the animals. Another spin on a fun evening.

I'm going to recommend the 50's Prime Time at MGM.

I remember it as being a truly unique experience that kids and adults LOVE! The servers are like actors through the whole experience and the food is fun and great! Atmosphere also-you and your kids will love looking at all the 50's furniture and nostalgia. and old 50's sitcoms laying on the t.v.'s.

Thanks for the great suggestions. So far I have made res. for 50's Prime Time,
Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's and the Rainforest.
I switched a res so we could go to Whispering Canyon. It sounds SO FUN:rotfl2:
Anyothers that I should consider? We will be there for 5 days.

we are trying Tapan Edo for the first time this year. We always have fun at the japanes steak houses in our state but have never taken the kids we thought they might like it.
