Brother Bear- pre history around the dawn of man

Hercules- Acient Greece

Aladdin- Acient Bagdard

Pocahontas- The elizabethean age

Little Mermaid - the 19th century

Peter Pan- early 20th century I would guess around 1910

Mary Poppins - 1910

Return to Neverland- World war 2

Oliver and Company - 1980's

Feel free to add any more and have fun

amazing, it seems pixar movies are all in the present day except Wall-e.
Snow White and Cinderella are midevil times I would believe but Snow White seems to have come first.

Thanks for pointing that out by the way, yeah it seems only Disney animation film to take place in what was then the present would be Oliver and company I don't normallly inluced the Disney sqeuals but felt that Return to Neverland should be because of the war setting.

By the way here a couple more

Alantis the lost empire- 1914 in fact in the commnery the prodcuers say that it takes place on the eve of the first world war

BedKnobs and Broomsticks - World War 2

Who Framed Roger Rabbit- 1945

I would have put The Little Mermaid in an earlier century, maybe 18th or 17th. Out of curiosity, why did you put it in the 19th? Also for Peter Pan, Wendy is an adult during Return to Neverland but she's not in her 40's, so I think I would put Peter Pan in the 20's. I'm curious about when Beauty and The Beast would have been set...I think I'd put it in the 17th or 18th Century like The Little Mermaid. Oh, and I can give you an exact year for Pocahontas....1607 because that's when Jamestown was founded.

This is a great list!! I would definitely replace Return to Neverland with Bed Knobs and Broomsticks though since it is very WWII oriented.

What about Aztec/Mayan themed Emperor's New Groove before Pocahontas?

The reason I put the little Mermaid in the 19th century was beacuse that was when Hans Christain Anderson lived and he made an apperance in the tv series or someone who was suppose to be him

Also the reason for putting Peter Pan in 1910 was the fact that it is set during the Edwardian period which normally around 1901-1910

Brother Bear- pre history around the dawn of man

Hercules- Acient Greece

Aladdin- Acient Bagdard

Emperor's new groove - Aztec/Mayan period

Hunchback of Notre Dame - 1482

Pocahontas- The elizabethean age/1607

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow -circe 1790

Little Mermaid - the 19th century

Song of the south - it set shortly after the American civl war

Tarzan- 1880'S

The Great Mouse detective- 1897

Peter Pan- early 20th century I would guess during the edwardrian period

Lady and the Tramp - 1909

Mary Poppins - 1910

The Aristocats- Paris 1910

Atlantis: The Lost Empire- 1914 in fact in the commnery the prodcuers say that it takes place on the eve of the first world war

Return to Neverland- World war 2 - during the blitz

BedKnobs and Broom Sticks - World War 2

Who framed Roger Rabbit - 1947

101 Dalmations - 1960's

The rescuers- the present day I guess during the 1970's

Oliver and Company - 1980's New York

Toy story- present day

Monster inc - presend day

Lilo and Stich - presendy 2002 I guss

Fino Nemo- present day

Ratatouille- present day

Bolt- Present day

Treasure Planet - far in the future

Wall E- the 22nd century

I will add Up when I get the chance to see it, it hasn't opened in the U.K yet what do think of this new list

You're right....Peter Pan is supposed to be set during the Edwardian period (I looked it up) and was written in the 1910's so I guess Wendy must have been an older mother for that time period. I'd never seen The Little Mermaid cartoon series but if Andersen made an appearance in it, you're right...it had to be 19th C. After looking it up on Wikipedia and seeing what happened in the original story, I'm glad Disney made the changes it did to the story.

Hi there, cool idea.

Sorry don't mean to nit pick but just for the sake of accuracy under Pocahontas 1607 is not in the Elizabethan age. James the VI was a Stuart not a Tudor.

I always thought of Brother Bear as more of a Native American theme as opposed to a dawn of man time frame. So it really could be anytime before Europeans came to N. America.

Just corrected them thanks for pointing that mistake out

This is a cool list!

Jane mentions that Darwin, Rudyard Kipling and Queen Victoria will want to meet Tarzan. Thus the second half of the film - Tarzan's adult life - must be set between 1865 and 1882, when all three of these individuals were alive.
