My large extended family (19people) are going on the 2005 Christmas cruise. The kids ages are 11,10,10,9,8,7,6,5,4. What did your kids enjoy doing while at sea?

PS This is my first post.:teeth:

Welcome to the DIS, this is a great place to get info. My kids (6 an 8) loved hanging out by the pool, playing table tennis, shuffle board, going to the movie, ordering room service, getting ice cream, walking around the ship, going to the clubs, going to the store, going to the shows, just having fun. It seems difficult to imagine but there is a lot to do......

Welcome!!! (but be careful, you'll soon be addicted like the rest of us!!!)::yes::

Try looking at DCL's "Navigators" - they are daily itineraries on the ships - to see what typically available for both kids and adults. There are some samples posted at this link: http://www.dcltribute.com/navigators/

Happy Planning!!! :sunny: :Pinkbounc

Most of "your" kids will enjoy the kids clubs. The 11yo may not enjoy it as much. The clubs have lots of activities scheduled and there are family activities throughout the day, throughout the ship.

If nothing scheduled strikes their fancy, then they may like playing in the pools, going to all the movies they can stand, play ping pong, shoot hoops, making crank phone calls, play shuffleboard, run around the ship terrorizing the other passengers, eating all of the ice cream, cookies, burgers, hot dogs, pizza that they can stomach, make out with kids of the opposit sex, put you in debt buying smoothies with their room cards because "they're free" and doing the same with the video arcade cards, use the elevators as "rides" or "stops" (if they push every floor button), loiter in large groups on the stairways.

OK, I threw a couple of items in just to see if you were really reading:teeth: Actually kids from age 3 to 23 have been known to do some or all of the things in the above list, because that's what kids will do. Most are ok, some you "need to get a room for" and others are never appropriate.

Don't worry, your kids will have a great time!! The ship is a fun place to be!!:boat:

Thanks for the quick replies. Our kids will like all of those things. Funny to think of going to the movies on board, but we never get to go at home.

I aready am addicted. I've been reading the boards for months. I just now took the plung.:hyper:

Welcome and glad you took the plunge.

There are vegetable car races, Mr. Toad's race, pajama parties with goofy (you color and keep the pillow cases) tons of stuff. You will have a great time.
