We are taking our dear friend to Diz and want to surprise him for his birthday. Since he is just a big kid at heart, we thought a dinner out would be fun. Something with characters would be cool. Any suggestions?

Before I read charactors my first thought was Wispering Canyons or HDR at Ft. Wilderness. What about Chief Mickey's? Or one of the Princess meals?

Although there are no characters, 50s Prime Time Cafe over at MGM is a hoot. Good food, fun atmosphere and if you tell Mom (your waitress) that it's a birthday celebration, I bet they would really do it up big. You'd have all the cousins (everyone in the restaurant is your cousin) around you to sing Happy Birthday!

As another "big Disney kid", I'd recommend the following:

Crystal Palace -- Great food & service (Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Piglet)
Whispering Canyon Cafe -- Great food & service!
Rose & Crown -- Try to get a PS for about 1 1/2 hours prior to Illuminations and request a patio table. This way you can enjoy a great meal, then relax at your table and watch Illuminations.
50's Primetime Cafe -- Great food & service. Especially if you tell "Mom" it's his birthday!
