We work Christmas Eve 930-1 (half day) then off Christmas day (of course). Back to work on the 26th.
New Year's Eve we work 930-5 then off New Years Day. Back to work on the 2nd.
It works out better for us when the holidays arent on a Wed.

Gotta juggle the kids school vaca for 2 wks.

We're closed the 24,25,31, and 1. We get 6 weeks of vacation a year; some of the teachers are using 2 vacation days to extend the weekends.

The college is closed from the 3pm the 20th to Jan 2nd.

My DH's work is closed Dec 25th only, and Jan. 1 only. No half days on 12/24 or 12/31.

We get the 24th, 25th & the 1st off. We used to only get the 25th & the 1st off until some merger and then our holiday in February was taken away and used on the 24th. I am on vacation though the 24th-the 1st myself.

DH works for Honeywell, and they have Monday Tuesday and Wednesday off next week, but just Wednesday for New Years. He needs to burn up some vacation days though, so he will take off all of Christmas week.

half days Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, off 25th and 1st.

The iron mines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year...they aren't able to shut down the machinery because it's too costly to RE-start everything..

so the workers don't really see/notice the holidays by getting special time off or anything like that.

Well, I am working Christmas and New Year's Eve. We, of course, don't close so someone's gotta do it :)

We get 4 days off between Christmas and New Year's. We always get Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's day. The fourth day fluctuates depending on when Christmas falls. This year we get the 23rd off, last year we received New Year's Eve off (this was the standard until this year) and next year we get the 26th off. I am off from 10:45am tomorrow until the 27th. I like coming in between the holidays because everyone else is off and I can actually get caught up on some work.;)

We are open every day of the year, except for Christmas (although we do have an on call person). We work a "modified" day on the 24th (usually get let out around 2), get the 25th off (except for the lucky on call tech) and are back the 26th. We get the 1st off, but there are a couple of people who are asked to work and cover the phones.

I am taking the 24th and 26th as personal days (since I didn't get a Disney vacation, I have the time). So I get a nice break in the middle of next week, work one day, 3 days off, work one day, weekend off!

We have Christmas Day off.

We have a set amount of holidays per year, some years we get Christmas Eve off, but this year we got an extra day with the 4th of July instead.

I have a bunch of unused vacation so I'm off the 24-26th

We also have just New Years Day off. The business I am in is extremely busy at year end, so I am working four days the week of New Years.

1/2 a day on Christmas Eve, off on the 25th and Jan. 1.

Here in the Caribbean, we also have what's known as Three Kings Day (Jan. 6) off (also known as Epiphany). Three Kings is a HUGE celebration here, with big parades and festivals. It's really cool.

We're off the 25th and the 1st.

Of course, I always save my vacation to use at the end of the year, so I am off the 23rd - 2nd.

I have a 3/4 day on 12/24, off on 12/25 and 1/1.

I am on-call for several of the days between now and Christmas so I may still have to work some on my days off.

snoopy...that's a nice long vacation! i hope enjoy your time off.

seems that a lot of people will be working right thru the holidays...just too many things to keep up and running! :)

We get Christmas Day off (and New Years Day).

I have a few days of vacation to use up (we can only carry over up to 8 days of vacation and I have like 10 left), so I'm taking the 26th and 27th off.

Christmas Day and New Year's Day. I'm the same - we can only carry over 5 days, so I am using up what I can't carry over the week between Christmas and New Year's.

DH usually takes the 24th as a vacation day and then hes off the 25th. Ironic thing is this year the company is closing the 24th, but he may need to go in for a while.

31st he is supposed to work until 5:00, but they may get out a little early, and then hes off the 1st.

He also got Thanksgiving and the day after off, so that was nice.

I work in a Veterans hospital so of course we are always open. However this year it was my turn to be off the week for vacation. Leaving Thursday for WDW! Since we are open 24/7, you get used to working the holiadays.

We get a half day on the 24th and 31st and off Christmas and New Years Day.
