We have reservstions for the Poly this yer and I know that the resort carries Pack n Plays but was wondering whether anyone recently was able to get a full sized crib? My dd will be just over 2 when we go and won't be comfortable sleeping in a pack n play, I know that you can rent them from an outside source but I was hoping to save the money, if at all possible.

Our other thought was to let her share a bed with her older brother and use bed rails, but I would worry about her getting up out of bed and roaming around at night, For this reason, we would really rather have the crib - it will be most like what she is used to.

It will be hard enough with all of us sharing one room for a week - LOL.

Any suggestions - thank you.

Okay..you're right about the pak-n-plays. That is what they'll guarantee you. If you have an older baby (over a year old) though they either may not fit or just may not be comfortable in one if they don't generally use one at home. If you ask them when you book they say they either don't have them (full size cribs this is) or they say there are some but they cannot guarantee them. My experience has been that the WDW resorts DO indeed have them BUT they don't have many. It's hit and miss as to if you can get hold of one and you won't know until you check in and ask for one since they won't guarantee them ahead of time.

What they DO have is a full size metal crib...much like a hospital crib. Not very inviting. And they do not have fitted crib sheets for them. They just give you regular sheets to wrap around the mattress and a regular blanket made for a full size bed. So if you intend to take your chances and end up obtaining one just be sure that you bring bedding from home (unless what the do provide isn't a problem for you). We've gotten them and it works out okay...better than a pak-n-play since our DD is 21mos and tall. But we brought the bedding with us. The problem is though as I mentioned, they won't guarantee you the full size crib so if you absolutely have to have one you may want to rent one;) www.abbf.com rents them if you're interested in checking them out. They'll bring you one and set it all up and come pick it all up and dismatle it all again when you're done. For us, we took our chances and figured our dd would sleep in the pak-n-play if we couldn't get the full size ...but she tends to nap in hers at home so we knew it would work as a back up. But the full size of course would be more comfortable.

DJmommy - we were at the Poly last November and had a full-size crib in the room waiting for us when we arrived. It had crib-sized fitted sheets and was wooden. I had requested a crib when I made my reservation expecting a Pack-n-Play (that's what we had at Pop Century and POR).

I don't know if that is standard for the Poly, but that was our experience. You can always call the resort directly and talk to the manager about how they assign the cribs.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your replies. I will call and ask again. I did request a crib with my original reservation but will either try to have them alter it to request a full size crib or call the Poly directly to see what my chances will be. It's good to know that they do have at least some full size cribs and that the wooden ones at the Poly sound so much nicer than the metal cribs.

Without specifiying a type of crib, we got a wood crib with fitted sheets last fall at the Poly. I'm pretty sure it wasn't quite full-sized though - it didn't seem quite as big as our regular crib.
