I rec'd confirmation for our March stay today and our stay is described as a "5 night winter package" and full payment is due 21 days in advance. Is this customary? It seemed like we didn't pay in full till we checked in last time.

Thanks!
Corina

I do believe if you booked through Walt Disney travel company and get a package then you have to pay the 21 days in advance so nothing odd about that there.

If you do a room only that is when you don't have to pay until you check in.

I didn't know I was ordering a package! I just asked for 5 nights at BDP code rate. Did everyone else who used this code up end with a package I wonder??

Odd, I was told 45 days. Any idea why that might be? I currently have a room only at the Animal Kingdom.

You should all call and re-check that. The room-only reservations should only have the deposit of one night stay to pay up front and the rest upon check-in (can pay before if you WANT to). I booked for Sept. 2004 and I also got a confirmation that read something about advance payment and I called and they told me it was a computer error. Only packages have to pay in advance. HTH

We just received our confirmation of the change on our POR reservation from AAA to BDP. Nothing was said about WDTC when we changed it. My original confirmation was room only with the normal pay at check-in. The new confirmation requires a pay in advance of the full balnce 21 days out.
Anyway two days ago I switched the POR to AKL. Called back yesterday to check that the new reservation was CRO with a regular deposit. They said it was. Waiting to see what comes next in the mail.

Yup, got the same 21-day pay in full confirmation letter in yesterday's mail and used BDP. I'll call them tomorrow like you all -- and will post what happened.

I got the same thing, too. I called CRO and they said it was a mistake and I didn't have to pay the balance until check-in. I asked them if they would send me another confirmation letter. I just have the kind of luck that my reservation would be cancelled and we would be screwed because I don't have anything in writing saying that the balance isn't due at check-in.

I'll post when I get my new confirmation letter and let everyone know what it reads.

That happened to me on one of my reservations last year, I called and the CM said that it was an error. Room-only reservations require first night stay as deposit and balance due at ckeck-in. So you may want to call CRO to verify. Sometimes the computer adds the balance due in error. Room-only reservation #'s are 12 digits, the packages don't.

I just got my "modified" ressie in the mail. I had added code BDP to a ressie I already had. Mine said "Winter Package, due such-and-such date (21 days before arrival)." I called & they said it was a mistake-their computer showed "balance due upon arrival." I think I'll call on that date just to make sure.

Got my modified ressie yesterday and mine also said the same thing as well. Guess there must have been a real computer glitch. I am going to call as well tomorrow.

I was told by a very informative cm that the computer read pkg, either booked in cro or wdtc that it asks for payment ahead of time. The policy is the same at always in cro one night dep and rest when you get there.

Update - Ditto what everyone else said. It was a computer glitch. I'm still a nervous nilly about messing with reservations, so I'll mark my calendar and call again 21 days before just to make sure.

...calling CRO to make sure. I have NEVER paid in advance, and I don't intend to start NOW.... !

Our room only confirmation for ASMu said we were due in full by 10/31 (we arrive before Thanksgiving). I called last night to make sure since we've never paid all in full before arrival on a room only reservation and I was told that we pay in full upon arrival. The CM was putting a note in the computer stating my concern. Sounds like a glitch in the system, huh?

Can you ask for a new resssie conf showing that payment in full is due upon check in? I'd ask for that if the one I have is wrong.
