Full payment due 21 days in advance??

....to modify my vaca to a split stay (Ft Wilderness cabins/AKL). I paid the deposit with my Disney Visa and no further payments are due until check-in!! (of course, I'll be paying with my Disney Visa points...woohoo!:bounce: :Pinkbounc )

I booked online with Disney. I was told payment in full 45 days before. I also called and was told final payment must be made by Nov 10:confused:

it doesn't matter if it's room only or a package, if you book it through the Walt Disney travel company, the total is due in advance...

be very careful when you call central reservations that you're talking to central reservations and not the travel company...and also make sure that all you owe in advance is the deposit not the total (if they say you'll owe everythign in advance then you know for a fact that you're talking to the travel company)..

if you get the travel company hang up and call again....

I called and requested that a new modified reservation be sent with the correct balance due date.

We received a new ressie today....It is still wrong! The CM assured me that the new ressies would state "balance due on arrival."

I called and exaplained my concerns, and the CM put me on hold to ask her supervisor what to do.

Their answer makes me uneasy! The answer was "Do not worry...The balance is really not due until arrival. "

However, they cannot send me anything in writing stating this!

I got the same thing, too. I called CRO and they said it was a mistake and I didn't have to pay the balance until check-in. I asked them if they would send me another confirmation letter. I just have the kind of luck that my reservation would be cancelled and we would be screwed because I don't have anything in writing saying that the balance isn't due at check-in.

I'll post when I get my new confirmation letter and let everyone know what it reads.

(staying at the Ft. Wilderness cabins & used BDP code)

I got my "new" confirmation letter in the mail today. It's STILL showing we have to pay the balance by 12/13/04 (Our stay is 1/3/05-1/10/05).

Now what do I do????? I do have the money in my savings account for the hotel so I guess I could just transfer the money and send a check for the balance. But I really wanted to wait until I got there to pay for it.

....about that, she explained to me that the 'puter automatically prints it out that way (regardless of whether it is a package or room-only)...

I had the same thing happen on my reservations for Feb. I changed to the "winter" code and when I got the new confirmation letter I saw that the balance was due earlier than my arrival date. I called CRO and they told me that the computer showed that my balance was due upon arrival. The CM also asked what my confirmation said (that remainder of balance was due 21 days before arrival). She then noted on my reservations in her computer what my confirmation letter stated and that even though it stated that my balance was due 21 days out, as per policy for room only reservations, my balance will be due upon arrival. She said that I wouldn't receive another confirmation letter and that what she did in the computer will straighten it out. I'm still a little concerned that it can be canceled, so at 21 days out I'll call again to confirm that everything is still there.

Add me to the "Winter Code" "Balance due in advance" group. I had applied the code to an existing ressie. I called CRO and was also told "mistake" balance is not due until check-in. But like others I will also be calling closer to check-in to confirm just in case.

I was also told that eventually WDTC will be taking over all reservations and that "at some time in the future" all reservation fees will be due in advance as they are with WDTC now. I originally unkowinigly made my reservation through WDTC and didn' t realize it until she explained deposit and cancellation policies. I informed her that I didn't pay in advance in the past and prefered it that way so she changed it for me.

This is a glitch in Disney's computer system that has been there for years. When they put in the discount code it is read like a package, with payment due prior to check in. As long as you have a 12 digit confirmation number you are booked in Central Reservations and your balance is not due until check in. The reservation will not automatically cancel as long as you have a deposit applied.

I have had this happen with many clients over the years and I have never once had a reservation cancel.

I booked on line and printed out a paper that says "balance due on arrival". My itinerary says payment due 45 days out. I guess I'll be making a phone call too!
