full park closing early?

I was wondering if California Adventure ever closes the gates early because the park is at capacity. I'm specifically thinking about the Sunday of President's Day weekend. More specifically, if we book the dinner package at Ariel's Grotto and don't show up until near dinner time, is it possible that we would not be able to get in?

I suppose anything is possible, but you shouldn't have any problems over President's Day weekend at all. Never heard of either park being at capacity over Prez Day. Have fun!

Can they, of course. Have they? I don't think DCA has ever closed due to capacity, not even on New Years Eve.

DCA has closed 1 time due to capacity, back in I believe 2009 (maybe 2008?), on the last day of the "Buy Disneyland, Get DCA Free" promotion. They ended up sending people into Disneyland with their last day ticket.

But! I don't think it happens very often, I don't hear about often, so as the others say, it CAN happen, but it's very unlikely... You scould be fine

I wouldn't worry about closures that week. Yes it'll be busy, but not that busy.

I was at the DLR over President's Day weekend this year. While it was busy, it wasn't as crowded as a summer weekend or a summer holiday weekend. Moderate waits for the headliners, but good use of Fastpass will help you avoid most lines. I think the longest wait we had was 30 minutes for Toy Story. Remember that Big Thunder and Roger Rabbit are disconnected from the Fastpass system and the two parks are disconnected from each other.

Another question....how early should we line up for World of Color if we have the dinner package? If there are two shows that night, I'm assuming the second one would be less busy, right?

Both shows will likely be 100% full. Thier is a limited viewing area that requires tickets to enter. It rarely doesn't fill up.

Be there at the early time listed on your ticket, when you are let into Paradise Park don't go to the front, go to the front of any tier, at the top of steps or against a railing.

Actually, it happened all three years that they said there was no more using both days in one to get a park hopper. There was also one New Years Eve where both parks closed due to capacity and another one where you no tickets were being sold, Disneyland was considered full and you could only get into DCA if you had an annual pass (back when a pass that included DCA was extra) or a ticket that was valid for entrance into DCA.

As for President's day weekend, it will be crowded, but you should be fine.
