As you see, there's no cut and dry answer.
Most of us have to do the math multiple times. And once we have it figured out (and usually booked), we do the figures again.
And I have to agree that convenience is a commodity worth spending for. Some folks book onsite for the transporation, but others still rent a car so they don't have to wait in a line for a crowded bus. Some like the dining plan so they don't have to continuously add up the price on the entree. Others find a great deal off site, but then learn that the transportation options aren't going to fit their schedules....
We're a mess around here and we have calculators that really want a vacation from thinking about our vacation.
I recommend you write down each of the possibilities you would want to do:
1. onsite with dining & tickets
2. onsite with tickets from WDW & dining OOP (check the food threads for the best sites for choosing $$ amount to save)
3. onsite with discount tickets & pack it in food
4. offsite
....
The list goes on.Once you get the high and low of what your budget is, then you can contact a
travel agent with help putting your reservations together. Or just keep testing your theory. We are all willing to read a plan, we just can't make the best decision for others.
