Would love to hear experiences of those who have done a full day at a park and then after hours.

I have a super short, probably once in a decade solo trip in January. Only two nights, coming in on a red eye. Original plan was to do AK and Epcot.

Now that AH events are out, it’d give me a chance to do HS too within the days I’m there, if I swapped my AK and Epcot days. So it’d be AK day with HS AH at night. Debating whether to try to do it.

I know AK is a big park and HS is not as much.

What’s it like doing a full day at one park and then trying to do a full park at AH, physically? Is it crazy?

I’m West Coast so my goal would be to do as much as possible (though nothing at HS is must do except SDD and RnR since I’ve ridden everything else in DL which is why it wasn’t on my original list).

What’s your schedule? Will you be flying in and heading right to a park? Hotel that night and the next before flying out or leaving?

Depending how tired you are for Park Day 1, it’s possible to do the After Hours. Animal Kingdom is really cool but you can knock alot over 6+ hours, especially if you get ILL for FoP. I’d probably try to leave around 4pm, go rest in our room for a few hours before grabbing a meal and heading out for HS AH. then consider sleeping in a little on Day 2 if very tired. I’d rather show up to EP at 10am with a full tank than at 8am already dragging my feet. That way not too pooped to enjoy the new night show Luminous.

My original plan was fly in (6:30am arrival) and head to AK. I was going to then just do an easier evening and visit AKL before resting and doing Epcot my first and only full day.

If I did this, I’d be hitting the ground running to Epcot on arrival. And then I’d be doing AK and HS on my only full day.

I’d rather not be tired but I’m a mom of two toddlers and have taken international trips with them in the past 6 months and part of my rationale of being able to do this is that I’ve dealt with no sleep in many capacities, so I probably could do this. I know some moms would just want to sleep. I want to do as much as I can without anybody slowing me down.

But again, this might be a dumb idea and maybe should just take it easier, especially if there’s not a ton of must-dos for me at HS.
