Does anyone own this camera? I have looked all over the internet for reviews and have found nothing but the decriptive review. I recently received this camera as a gift and I'm having many problems with it. It is 10 MP and was about $200 so I expected it to have great quality. However, I am having problems with the clarity. Some pictures just look kind of blurry or fuzzy and others are okay. I am so confused on why it keeps doing this. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've never had problems with working cameras before but I just cant figure this one out. It is a decent camera, so I expect decent results but its not what I'm getting! :headache:

I thought this one turned out okay..
BUT

why does it have this blurry effect? shouldnt a camera of this quality have more clarity?

TIA for any help. I am STRESSING over getting good pics on my upcoming trip to WDW with this camera.

I am not a pro by any means, only a hobbyist, and I do not have this particular camera. I may be way off base, so maybe one of the pros will chime in here, but my thinking is it may be the lighting and not the camera. Looks like the sun coming through the open door and the bright light coming through the blinds may have washed it out some?? :confused3
That is just a guess though. I would try taking all kind of pictures in all different lights and use different flash settings to see if any thing helps. Just a suggestion, I hope this helps you just a little bit!

Enjoy your upcoming trip!!

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm keep trying different things sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. I just really figured it was on the higher end of P&S cameras, so I didnt think it would be this difficult to P&S! :rolleyes1 ..and you have the perfect term I was looking for..washed out! It seems most of my pictures have that washed out look..sigh.

Maybe someone who has this camera will chime in and tell me what works best!

Hi lazidazi07,

I'll try to keep this simple, and please DON'T take this the wrong way.

"It is 10 MP and was about $200 so I expected it to have great quality."

MP tend to be a marketing game now-a-days, and does little for quality. You bought a small sensor compact with MP crammed in tightly. This usually has a negative affect on quality. Now before people jump on me, or you throw your camera away..... :)

Thje good news is I don't see noise effects of the small sensor in your sample. Just do what Blessed99 says. Sometimes Compacts try too hard to choose the best setting for you and end up failing (Auto settings). Experiment a lot with it's more manual features and you find that you get consistely better shots in WDW. Fuji is also known for it noise reduction, so your high MP shots should look a lot better than many other compacts. There is absolutely no reason why you can get great shots with that camera if you just keep practicing and get comfortable with it's differnt modes. Good Luck!

Just a shot (no pun intended) in the dark here, but the second shot looks like it might have been rendered more diffused due to condensation on the lens element. That can easily happen this time of year when bringing a camera out of a cold, air conditioned environment, into a warm, humid climate. Is it possible that that might be the culprit here? Shot also looks slightly out of focus, too.

As has already been mentioned, more megapixels does not necessarily mean better pictures. I have a 6MP Nikon DSLR and a 10MP model and can hardly tell the difference in the shots. Of far greater importance is becoming familiar with photographic technique (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, depth of field, etc) and with your specific camera in specific. A little experimentation, owners manual in hand, would be a good place to start with the latter. There are books on general photography that you may want to check out as well.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I understand that more MP generally dont mean a better quality, but I guess I just expected it to be easy to P&S, without blurryness. I wouldnt have chosen this camera myself, but it was a gift. Hopefully I can get it right before October!
